Good one touch coffee machine
It’s overall a very good automatic machine. However, the attachments are costly even after paying a decent price for this machine and no control on milk temperature.

At a glance
The JURA C8 Piano Black is a compact automatic coffee machine for households wanting café-style black and milk drinks with minimal effort. Its strengths are simple touchscreen operation, integrated grinding, automatic milk frothing and programmable settings in a space-saving design. A fair limitation is that it offers a smaller 1.6 L water tank and 200 g bean hopper than larger premium machines.
What it’s great for

- Espresso and Milk Drinks
- Compact Kitchens
- Easy Customised Brewing
Where it works best
- Home Kitchen
- Apartment
- Small Kitchen
- Breakout Area for Light Use
Who it’s for

Things to consider
Compared with larger premium automatic coffee machines, it has a smaller 1.6 L water tank, 200 g bean hopper and a more compact drink menu, so it is better suited to personal or small-household use than heavy entertaining or office demand.
Ease of use score
8/10 - Touchscreen controls, one-touch drink options and app support make everyday use straightforward.
Coffee variety suitability
8/10 - Well suited to espresso, coffee, cappuccino and latte macchiato, with enough programmability for regular home preferences.
Office vs home fit
Best for home or light shared use rather than busy office settings due to its compact capacity.
Cleaning convenience
8/10 - Integrated rinsing, cleaning and descaling programs help reduce maintenance effort.
Milk frothing performance
8/10 - Automatic milk frothing supports convenient preparation of cappuccino and latte macchiato for everyday use.
Key benefits
- 15 Bar Pump: Delivers the pressure needed for espresso-style extraction with good crema and flavour intensity.
- Integrated Grinder: Grinds beans fresh for each cup, reducing prep steps and improving aroma compared with pre-ground coffee.
- Automatic Milk Frother: Makes cappuccino and latte macchiato easier to prepare without separate frothing equipment.
- Thermoblock Heating System: Heats water quickly and helps maintain consistent brewing temperature from cup to cup.
- Touch Screen Controls: Simplifies drink selection and day-to-day operation with a clear, direct interface.
- JOE App Compatibility: Adds convenient drink customisation and control from a connected mobile device.
- Pulse Extraction Process: Optimises water flow during extraction for fuller flavour in shorter coffee styles like espresso.
- Zero Energy Switch: Cuts standby power draw completely when switched off, helping reduce unnecessary energy use.
Q: Can you use pre-ground coffee in the JURA C8?
A: Yes. The JURA C8 has a powder chute for ground coffee, which is useful for an occasional decaf or a different blend without emptying the bean hopper. It is intended for single uses rather than replacing the built-in grinder for everyday brewing.
Q: Does the JURA C8 make two coffees at once?
A: Yes. The JURA C8 includes 2 x Espresso and 2 x Coffee programs, so it can prepare two black coffees in one run. Cappuccino and latte macchiato are listed as single-drink options, so milk-based drinks are not shown as two-at-once programs.
Q: Is this machine suitable for cold brew or iced coffee?
A: No. This model is not cold brew capable, so it does not have a dedicated cold extraction program. It is designed for hot coffee drinks, and any iced serving would need to be made by brewing hot coffee first and cooling it separately.
Q: How often will the JURA C8 need refilling at home?
A: JURA C8 has a 1.6L water tank and a 200g bean hopper, so it can make multiple drinks before either needs topping up. That suits moderate daily use, but frequent coffee drinkers or shared kitchens will refill it more often than larger automatic machines.
Q: What can the JOE app do with this machine?
A: JOE app compatibility gives the JURA C8 another way to choose and customise drinks, alongside the touch screen on the machine itself. App use is optional, so buyers who prefer direct controls can still run the machine normally without relying on a phone.
Q: Does the machine fully switch off to avoid standby power?
A: Yes. The JURA C8 has auto shut off, an energy saving mode, and a zero energy switch that disconnects the machine from the power supply. That makes it a better fit for buyers who want an automatic machine that does not sit drawing standby power.
