At a glance
The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 Dual Battery Bundle is a premium action camera for travellers, sports users and vloggers who want sharp 8K footage, strong stabilisation and easier self-framing with a 2.5 inch flip screen. The included two 1800mAh batteries make it better for longer outings. A key limitation is that water resistance is limited to 12 m without a separate dive case.

Things to consider
It is water resistant to 12 m on its own, but deeper diving and more specialised underwater use will require a separate dive case.
Outdoor adventure suitability
Highly suitable for travel, action sports, hiking, swimming and general outdoor filming thanks to stabilisation, wide-angle coverage and water resistance.
Video quality score
9/10 - 8K 30fps recording and strong stabilisation make it excellent for high-detail action footage.
Waterproof performance
8/10 - water resistant to 12 m without a case, which is strong for swimming and shallow snorkelling but not ideal for deeper diving.
Beginner vs pro fit
Best for intermediate to advanced users, but still beginner-friendly for vloggers and travellers thanks to the flip screen and stabilisation.
Battery endurance rating
8/10 - the included two 1800mAh batteries make it well suited to extended day trips and longer filming sessions.
Key benefits
- 8K 30fps video: captures very high-detail footage that gives more flexibility for cropping and editing adventure clips.
- 50MP photo capture: produces high-resolution stills that suit travel shots, action moments and social content.
- Dual 1800mAh batteries: includes two batteries for longer shooting sessions and fewer charging interruptions while out filming.
- 2.5 inch flip touchscreen: makes self-framing simpler for vlogging, selfies and solo recording.
- 157 degree wide-angle lens: fits more of the environment into the frame for immersive action and landscape shots.
- FlowState stabilisation: helps smooth out handheld movement for steadier footage during sport and travel use.
- 360 degree horizon lock: keeps footage level even when the camera rotates during dynamic movement.
- Water resistance to 12 m: can be used for swimming and shallow snorkelling without needing a dive case.
Q: Is this action camera suitable for snorkelling and pool use?
A: Yes. Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is water resistant to 12 metres without a dive case, so it suits swimming, surf and shallow snorkelling. For deeper underwater filming, a dedicated dive housing is the safer choice.
Q: Do you need a dive case for deeper underwater filming?
A: Yes, once you go beyond 12 metres. Insta360 Ace Pro 2 can handle shallow water on its own, but deeper diving calls for a dedicated housing to protect the camera and keep the setup suited to that use.
Q: What microSD card size suits longer 8K recording sessions?
A: Insta360 Ace Pro 2 supports microSD cards with capacities as large as 1TB, which gives more room for long 8K clips and multiple shooting modes on one card. Staying within that limit matters, because larger cards are not listed for this model.
Q: Can it handle full-day shooting without frequent recharging stops?
A: Yes. This bundle includes two 1800mAh batteries, so it is better suited to longer outings than a single-battery kit. Actual runtime depends on settings such as resolution and screen use, so charging access still helps on bigger shoot days.
Q: How steady is the footage on bikes, trails and rough roads?
A: Insta360 Ace Pro 2 uses FlowState stabilisation and 360 degree horizon lock to keep footage smoother and level while moving. It is built for action use, but a secure mount still matters because harsh vibration can affect the final look.
Q: Does the wide lens suit helmet, bike and travel shots?
A: Yes. The 157 degree lens captures more of the scene, which suits helmets, handlebars and travel clips where space is tight. The trade-off is a more dramatic wide-angle look, so faces and objects near the edges can appear stretched.
