Printer compatibility assessment
8/10 - Strong fit for selected HP OfficeJet 6950, 6960, and 6970 All-in-One printers, but not suitable outside those compatible ranges.
Page yield value score

Ease of replacement rating
9/10 - Standard original cartridge format makes replacement straightforward for compatible HP OfficeJet users.
Business vs home suitability
Well suited to both home and small business use, especially where regular colour document printing is needed.
Key benefits

- Original HP Ink: Designed for reliable performance in compatible HP OfficeJet printers.
- Consistent Cyan Output: Supports clear, even colour for documents, charts, and everyday graphics.
- Frequent Printing Support: Suits regular colour printing routines in home and office settings.
- Compatible Printer Fit: Works with HP OfficeJet 6950, 6960, and 6970 All-in-One printer models.

Q: What is the difference between the HP 905XL Cyan and the standard HP 905 Cyan cartridge?
A: The main difference is yield. This HP 905XL Cyan is a high yield cartridge, so it is designed to print more pages than a standard HP 905 Cyan before replacement, which can lower cost per page if colour printing is frequent.
Q: Can the HP 905XL Cyan be used in a printer that normally takes HP 905 cartridges?
A: Yes, if the printer model is designed for the HP 905 cartridge family, the HP 905XL Cyan is the higher yield version of the same colour. The key check is cartridge series compatibility, not whether the cartridge is standard or XL.
Q: Is the HP 905XL Cyan worth buying over the standard cartridge for home or office use?
A: Yes, it is usually the better fit for regular printing because the high yield design means fewer cartridge changes and a lower cost per page than the standard HP 905 Cyan. For occasional printing, the standard cartridge may be enough.
Q: Should this HP 905XL Cyan cartridge be matched with original HP black, magenta and yellow cartridges?
A: Yes, using original HP cartridges across all colours helps keep print quality and colour balance more consistent. Mixing cartridge types can still work, but output and page yield can vary more than with a full original HP set.
Q: Is it okay to use an off-brand alternative instead of this HP 905XL Cyan cartridge?
A: It can work, but original HP 905XL Cyan is made specifically for HP printers that use this series, so colour accuracy, reliability and recognised ink status are generally more predictable. Third-party options can vary between batches and suppliers.
