Things to consider
Its large 6.79 inch form factor is great for media and battery life, but it may be less pocket-friendly and one-hand-friendly than smaller premium phones.
Global travel suitability
High - dual SIM support and unlocked operation make it practical for travel, roaming options and separating work and personal numbers.
Student vs business fit
Best for students and everyday business users who want long battery life, dual SIM flexibility and plenty of storage rather than a compact executive-style device.
Camera performance score
8/10 - strong detail from the 108MP rear camera and solid 4K video support for everyday shooting.
Battery endurance rating
9.5/10 - the 8300mAh battery is a standout for long sessions of streaming, gaming and day-to-day use.
Key benefits
- 6.79 inch AMOLED display: Delivers a large, vibrant screen for streaming, gaming and reading with rich colour and smooth visuals.
- 120Hz refresh rate: Makes scrolling, app navigation and supported games look smoother and feel more responsive.
- 256GB storage: Gives you ample room for large photo libraries, downloaded shows, music and apps without constant file cleanup.
- 12GB memory: Helps keep multitasking smooth when switching between apps, messaging, browsing and media.
- 108MP rear camera: Captures detailed photos that suit everyday photography, travel shots and social sharing.
- 8300mAh battery: Supports extended use for streaming, gaming and long days away from a charger.
- 66W charging: Reduces downtime compared with standard charging, making top-ups more convenient between busy sessions.
- IP68 and IP69K water resistance: Adds extra protection against dust, splashes and demanding everyday conditions.
Q: Can I use two numbers at once on this phone?
A: Yes. HONOR X9d supports dual SIM, so it can keep two mobile numbers active on one handset for work and personal use or for travel. It is useful if you want separate plans without carrying a second phone.
Q: Is the Honor X9d suitable for gaming and longer streaming sessions?
A: Yes. HONOR X9d pairs a 120Hz AMOLED display with 12GB of memory and a VC cooling system, which suits extended gaming and video use. Very demanding games can still use battery faster and may need settings adjusted for smoother play.
Q: Does the big battery reduce how often I need to charge?
A: Yes. HONOR X9d uses an 8300mAh battery, so it is built for long stretches of use between charges compared with many phones. Heavy gaming, 4K video recording and high screen brightness will still drain it faster than lighter everyday use.
Q: Can this phone record in 4K for sharper video clips?
A: Yes. HONOR X9d records video at 3840 by 2160 pixels, which is 4K and gives more detail than lower resolutions. Larger files use storage faster, so it suits buyers who want cleaner footage and have room for bigger video libraries.
Q: How useful are the IP68 and IP69K ratings day to day?
A: HONOR X9d has IP68 and IP69K water and dust resistance, so it is better suited to rain, splashes and dusty conditions than an unrated phone. It is still not a licence for deliberate submersion, and liquid damage can still happen over time.
