Q: Which Epson printers are compatible with the Epson 702XL DURABrite Black Ink cartridge?
A: This cartridge is listed for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720, WF-3725 and WF-3730. It is the 702XL black cartridge, product code C13T345192, so the printer needs to support the Epson 702 ink series rather than a different Epson range.
Q: What is the difference between Epson 702XL black and the standard 702 black cartridge?
A: The main difference is capacity. Epson states the 702XL black cartridge delivers approximately 2.5 times more prints per cartridge than the standard 702 black, which can reduce how often frequent home office users need to replace ink.
Q: Is the Epson 702XL black cartridge better for documents than photos?
A: Yes. This cartridge uses DURABrite Ultra pigment ink, which is designed for sharp text and durable document printing on plain and specialty papers. It is better suited to business documents than photo-focused glossy prints that rely on photo ink systems.
Q: Does Epson DURABrite black ink resist smudging and highlighter marks?
A: Yes. Epson states DURABrite Ultra ink is fast drying, smudge resistant and highlighter friendly, which makes it useful for notes, reports and worksheets. It is also described as water and fade resistant for more durable printed documents.
Q: Why would someone choose the Epson 702XL black cartridge instead of buying standard cartridges more often?
A: The main reason is lower replacement frequency. Because Epson rates the 702XL black at about 2.5 times the prints of the standard 702 black, it is better suited to regular document printing where black ink tends to run out before colour cartridges.
