Does the job
Chose this mainly for the adjustable height. Controls and adjustment are easy. Works well on WOWs COD CC3 which are the only games I have tried it with so far.

At a glance
The Dell 24 inch FHD Curved Gaming Monitor is a compact gaming display that suits everyday gamers, students and home users wanting smooth motion and better immersion on a desk-friendly screen. Its key strengths are the 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, curved VA panel and ergonomic stand. One limitation is that Full HD on a 24 inch screen is better for mainstream gaming than premium high-detail or ultra-sharp creative work.

Things to consider
It prioritises smooth gaming and contrast over ultra-sharp detail, so premium users may prefer a higher-resolution or larger monitor for advanced creative work or more expansive multitasking.
Gaming suitability score
9/10 - fast 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, curved screen and FreeSync support make it very well suited to mainstream gaming.
Home office fit
Strong fit for home office use thanks to its compact size, ergonomic stand, flicker-free viewing and good contrast for everyday tasks.
Colour accuracy rating
7.5/10 - 99% sRGB coverage is good for casual editing and general use, but it is not aimed at professional colour-critical workflows.
Multi-monitor setup compatibility
Good - VESA support and a 24 inch size make it practical for dual-screen desks, though the curved panel is better suited to immersive single-monitor use.
Eye comfort score
8/10 - flicker-free technology, ergonomic adjustment and a moderate screen size support comfortable longer sessions.
Key benefits
- 1500R Curved Screen: wraps the display slightly around your field of view for a more immersive feel in games and movies.
- 165Hz Refresh Rate: helps fast-moving action look smoother for shooters, racing games and responsive everyday navigation.
- 1ms Response Time: reduces visible blur and ghosting to keep motion looking cleaner during quick gameplay.
- VA Panel with 3000:1 Static Contrast Ratio: delivers deeper blacks and stronger contrast, which is especially useful for dark scenes and night-time gaming.
- AMD FreeSync Compatibility: syncs the monitor with supported graphics output to reduce screen tearing and stutter.
- Adjustable Ergonomic Stand: makes it easier to set a comfortable viewing position for longer gaming or work sessions.
- 99% sRGB Colour Gamut: supports more natural-looking colour for everyday viewing, streaming and casual photo editing.
- Flicker Free Technology: helps make extended screen time more comfortable during work, study or long gaming sessions.
Q: Is the Dell 24" FHD Curved Gaming Monitor good for fast-paced gaming?
A: Yes. Its 165Hz refresh rate can deliver smoother motion than a standard 60Hz screen, which helps in shooters, racing games and esports titles. The VA panel also gives stronger contrast, though fast dark scenes may look less crisp than on a similarly fast IPS monitor.
Q: What does the Full HD resolution mean on this 24-inch Dell curved monitor?
A: It uses a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution on a 23.6-inch screen. That size and resolution pairing is a practical match for gaming, giving a clear image without the heavier graphics load of 1440p, so mid-range PCs can more easily drive high frame rates.
Q: Does the curved screen make a real difference on the Dell S2422HG?
A: Yes, but the effect is subtle on a 24-inch display. The curve can make the screen feel a little more wrapped around your field of view at a desk, but it is less dramatic than on larger ultrawide or 27-inch curved gaming monitors.
Q: Is this Dell monitor better for dark-room gaming or bright-room use?
A: It suits dark-room gaming particularly well because the VA panel has a 3000:1 static contrast ratio, which helps blacks look deeper than many IPS screens. Its 350 cd/m² brightness is also enough for typical daytime rooms, but strong glare can still affect visibility.
Q: Is the Dell 24" FHD Curved Gaming Monitor suitable for photo editing or colour-sensitive work?
A: It can handle casual photo editing and everyday creative tasks because it covers 99% of sRGB.
