At a glance
This 2-metre Cygnett USB 2.0 Armoured braided USB C to Lightning cable is ideal for Apple users seeking a tough, long-lasting charging solution. Q: Which Apple devices is this Cygnett cable designed to work with?
A: It is designed for Apple devices that use a Lightning port and charge from a USB-C source, such as many iPhones, some iPads and AirPods cases. It will not plug directly into older USB-A chargers or Apple devices that have already moved to USB-C.
Q: Can this 2m cable still fast charge an iPhone, or is it mainly for extra reach?
A: Yes, this 2m cable is built for both reach and fast charging. Cygnett states it supports iPhone charging at 30W, with an iPhone 12 series device reaching 0 to 50 per cent in 30 minutes when paired with a suitable USB-C charger.
Q: Is a 2m length practical for everyday charging, or should I choose a shorter cable?
A: A 2m cable suits bedsides, sofas and desks where the charger is further away. The trade-off is extra cable to manage in a bag or car, so a shorter lead is usually neater for compact setups while this one prioritises flexibility.
Q: Can this cable transfer photos and data as well as charge?
A: Yes, this cable can charge compatible Apple devices and transfer data or photos through a USB-C port. It is a practical option if a laptop, tablet or charger has USB-C only, but the Apple device end must still be Lightning, not USB-C.
Q: What makes this cable more durable than a standard Lightning cable?
A: This model uses DuPont Kevlar aramid fibre, double braided nylon and added strain relief to reduce fraying around the ends. That makes it better suited to repeated bending and daily travel than a basic smooth plastic cable.
