Q: What does XL mean on the Canon CLI-651 XL Cyan cartridge?
A: XL means extra large capacity. Compared with a standard CLI-651 cyan cartridge, it is designed to print more pages before replacement, which can reduce the cost per page for regular colour printing and photo use.
Q: What is the difference between Canon CLI and PGI cartridges for printers that use the 651 range?
A: CLI cartridges are typically dye-based colour inks used for photos and colour detail, while PGI cartridges are usually pigment black for sharper text on plain paper. This CLI-651 XL is the cyan colour cartridge, not the black PGI cartridge.
Q: Will the Canon CLI-651 XL Cyan cartridge fit every Canon printer?
A: No. Canon ink cartridges are model-specific, and the CLI-651 XL Cyan only fits printers designed for the 651 cartridge family. XL refers to capacity, not a universal size, so printer model compatibility must match before buying.
Q: Can this Canon CLI-651 XL Cyan cartridge be used with non-genuine ink cartridges in the same printer?
A: Yes, some Canon printers can physically accept compatible third-party cartridges, but print quality, colour accuracy and ink level reporting can vary. Choosing the genuine CLI-651 XL Cyan is the safer option for consistent cyan output.
