Great machine, easy to use, easy to clean. Don’t know why we didn’t buy one earlier.

After reading instructions and YouTube this machine is perfect. Took a little while to get the perfect measurement of coffee to water. Definitely a step up from our last machine. If you want to refine your coffee making skills this machine is for you

You do have to keep it wiped down otherwise it looks dirty, but I love it. I feel stainless you maybe able to get away with more.

The water that comes out of the hot water spout isnt hot enough. It comes out warm enough to chug or skull your cuppa but its not hot enough if you add a dash of milk to your long black or tea. The White Sea Salt colour is ok but I wouldnt have chosen it if I knew it was a Matt finish. This makes it look cheap and easy to get dirty. I was hoping for a e we hire gloss finish. Coffee side of things seems to work ok at this stage.

We like long blacks. The hot water spout for a long black, tea, hot chocolate etc works fine but isnt hot enough. After putting in a dash of milk it ends up being warm enough to skull your coffee which isnt ideal. I contacted breville about it. They said the temperature control knob which is to control the shot temperatures at the group head also controls the temperature for the hot water spout. I have it at max & my thermometer read 70c. I guess Ill have to use a kettle for the hot water. Also, be aware the white colour is a matte finish and not glossy which was a surprise to me. If I had of known that I wouldnt have picked the white as its really easy to get dirty & not as easy or nice to clean as a glossy unit in my opinion. Coffee part of the unit seems to work ok after some testing & tweaking which is the main thing.

The Breville Barista Pro Sea Salt is a manual espresso machine with a built-in grinder for households that want cafe-style coffee and more control over each cup. It stands out for its 3 second heat-up, compact size and milk texturing capability. A fair limitation is that its 54mm platform and manual workflow offer less precision and automation than premium prosumer machines.
Compared with premium prosumer machines, it offers less control over advanced extraction variables and uses a 54mm portafilter system rather than the larger 58mm format many specialist setups prefer.
Intermediate to enthusiast home barista
7/10 - manageable for daily use, but the grinder, steam wand and manual espresso workflow still require regular cleaning.
7/10 - the LCD controls and hands-free dosing help, though manual tamping, extraction and milk texturing still take practice.
8/10 - compact footprint makes it a good fit for smaller benchtops despite being an all-in-one machine.
About average for a manual coffee machine with built-in grinder
A: Breville The Barista Pro is still a hands-on manual espresso machine. The grinder and LCD controls simplify dosing and shot selection, but extraction and milk texturing still depend on your grind, tamping and steam wand technique.
A: Yes. Breville The Barista Pro is easier to learn on than a basic manual machine because it combines an integrated grinder with guided LCD controls, but it still rewards practice rather than delivering fully automatic café-style results.
A: No. Breville The Barista Pro reaches brewing temperature in 3 seconds, but the full drink still takes longer because beans need grinding, the portafilter needs preparing, and milk texturing is manual if you are making milk coffee.
A: Yes. Breville The Barista Pro has a 2L water tank and a 250g bean hopper, so it is set up for regular multi-cup use. It still needs manual grinding, tamping and milk texturing between drinks, so speed depends on the person using it.
A: No. Breville The Barista Pro uses a manual steam wand that heats milk to 130 degrees C for microfoam, so it suits lattes and cappuccinos but does not automate milk texturing. The result depends on jug position and technique.
A: No. Breville The Barista Pro has an integrated grinder with hands-free dosing, so fresh beans can be ground directly into the portafilter. That saves bench space, though it still uses a manual workflow rather than one-touch bean-to-cup operation.
A: Yes. Breville The Barista Pro uses a 54mm stainless steel portafilter that is compatible with Breville accessories. That makes it easier to add matching tools over time, but it does not mean every aftermarket coffee accessory will be the right size.
