Powerful Little Bottle That Works Wonders!
The Bissell SpotClean Spot & Stain 2X Concentrate Formula is an absolute must-have for anyone using a Bissell cleaner. Despite the small bottle, it’s incredibly powerful and effective - just a small amount goes a long way! It easily tackles tough stains like coffee, wine, and pet messes, leaving carpets and upholstery fresh, clean, and residue-free. I love that it’s 2X concentrated, so you don’t need much to get professional-level results. The formula also has a light, pleasant scent that makes everything smell fresh without being overpowering. Paired with my Bissell SpotClean HydroSteam, it delivers fantastic deep-cleaning results every time.

Great cleaning with a fresh scent
I’m really happy with this cleaning solution. It lifts stains easily and smells nice and clean, not too strong. It also helped remove odours from my child’s mattress and the carpet. Definitely recommend it!

At a glance
This 473 mL Bissell SpotClean formula is a concentrated cleaning solution made for portable spot cleaners on carpets, rugs and upholstery. It suits households that want a straightforward way to treat everyday spills, sofa marks and car seat stains. Its low-foaming mix is helpful for machine use and multiple small cleaning jobs. The main limitation is that it is intended for spot cleaning, not full-room deep cleaning.
What it’s great for
- Everyday spill clean-up
- Spot cleaning carpets
- Refreshing upholstery
- Treating rug stains
- Cleaning car seats
Where it works best
- Family homes
- Lounge rooms
- Bedrooms
- Cars
- Homes with soft furnishings
Who it’s for
- Households with carpets
- Pet owners
- Parents
- Car owners
- Anyone with a BISSELL portable spot cleaner
Things to consider
This formula is best for targeted stain treatment in compatible BISSELL portable machines, so it is less suitable than larger or specialist formulas for whole-room carpet washing or heavy-duty odour treatment.
Pet & child home suitability
Good for homes with pets and children that need frequent spot treatment of everyday fabric and carpet messes
Stain removal effectiveness
8/10 - Strong for everyday spills and common marks when used in a compatible portable machine, but not positioned as a specialist heavy-duty formula
Ease of application
8/10 - Simple to use in compatible BISSELL portable spot cleaners with a low-foaming concentrated mix
Odour removal score
6/10 - Can help freshen treated areas, but odour removal is not a highlighted specialist strength of this formula
Key benefits
- 2x concentrated formula: Helps deliver multiple cleaning sessions from a 473 mL bottle when diluted in the machine.
- Low-foaming mix: Designed for portable spot cleaning machines to support smoother machine use and easier rinsing.
- Multi-surface fabric use: Suitable for cleaning carpets, rugs and upholstery made from water-safe materials.
- Everyday stain treatment: Well suited to handling common household marks and spills before they set in.
- Portable machine compatibility: Made for use with a range of BISSELL portable spot cleaning models for convenient targeted cleaning.
- Upholstery refreshing: Helps clean sofas and other soft furnishings without needing a full-room carpet cleaning setup.
- Car interior cleaning: Useful for spot treating stains on car seats and other fabric vehicle surfaces.
- Targeted cleaning format: Ideal for quick response cleaning jobs instead of preparing for a large-scale wash.
Q: Is it suitable for full carpet cleaning or just spot stains?
A: No. Bissell SpotClean Spot & Stain 2X Concentrate Formula is intended for spot cleaning rather than washing a whole room. It suits targeted spills, marks and upholstery touch-ups, not a full-size carpet washer or broad-area clean.
Q: Will this work in all BISSELL portable spot cleaning machines?
A: It is compatible with a range of BISSELL portable spot cleaning models, not positioned as a universal cleaner for every machine type. It is designed for portable spot cleaners, so avoid using it in full-size carpet cleaning machines.
Q: Does this Bissell formula need to be diluted before cleaning?
A: Yes. Bissell SpotClean Spot & Stain 2X Concentrate Formula is designed to be mixed in the machine rather than used straight from the bottle. That concentrated format suits repeated spot-cleaning jobs, but it is not a ready-to-use spray.
Q: Can I use this on a couch or fabric sofa?
A: Yes. This formula is suitable for upholstery and other water-safe fabrics when used in a BISSELL portable spot cleaning machine. Test a hidden area first, and avoid delicate or non-colourfast fabrics that are not marked water-safe.
Q: Can the formula be used as a spray on stains?
A: No. Bissell SpotClean Spot & Stain 2X Concentrate Formula is made to be mixed into a portable spot cleaning machine, not used as a standalone spray. If you want a trigger-spray cleaner, choose one labelled for direct spray use.
Q: Is the 473ml bottle enough for more than one clean?
A: Yes. The 473ml bottle is intended for multiple spot-cleaning uses because the formula is concentrated and mixed in the machine. How far it goes depends on how many stains you treat and how much solution each cleaning job needs.
Q: How well does it handle older pet stains and odours?
A: It can help lift common pet stains and everyday odours from carpets and upholstery, especially when treated promptly. Older or set-in marks may need repeat cleaning, and strong odours may not clear completely in a single pass.
