Awesome features of the Withering body weighing scales.
The scales have a nice large screen which makes the results so easy to read and another great feature is that it gives you accurate weight measurements and body mass index , both of which can be recorded and tracked. Brilliant scales.

At a glance
The Withings Body BMI Wifi Scale is a smart bathroom scale for people who want easy weight and BMI tracking without manual logging. It is especially good for shared households thanks to automatic user recognition, app syncing, and useful modes like Baby Mode and Pregnancy Tracker. Its main limitation is that it focuses on weight and BMI rather than offering the deeper body composition data found on more advanced models.
What it’s great for
- Everyday weight tracking
- BMI monitoring
- Family health tracking
- Goal progress check-ins
- App-based wellness routines
Where it works best
- Home bathroom
- Family household
- Apartment
- Personal wellness routine
Who it’s for
- Health-conscious adult
- Multi-user household
- Parent
- Pregnancy tracker user
- Everyday fitness beginner
Things to consider
It tracks weight and BMI well, but it does not offer the broader body composition insights that some premium smart scales provide.
Fitness tracking suitability
8/10 - Strong for routine weight and BMI monitoring, especially when paired with app-based progress tracking.
Multi-user friendliness
Excellent for shared households with automatic profile recognition for up to 8 users.
Smartphone app integration
9/10 - Syncs over WiFi and Bluetooth with the Withings app on compatible iOS and Android devices, making long-term tracking simple.
Accuracy score
8/10 - Position Control technology and guided stance support consistent readings for everyday home use.
Key benefits
- Weight Tracking: Helps you monitor day-to-day changes with clear digital readings up to a 180 kg capacity.
- BMI Calculation: Gives you a quick extra indicator alongside body weight for routine health tracking.
- WiFi Sync: Sends measurements to the Withings app without needing your phone nearby for every weigh-in.
- Automatic User Recognition: Identifies and assigns results to the right profile for up to 8 users.
- Position Control Technology: Helps support more accurate readings by guiding proper stance on the scale.
- High-Contrast Display: Makes weight trends and BMI easier to read during quick daily check-ins.
- Baby Mode: Supports tracking for babies by helping parents monitor growth over time.
- Pregnancy Tracker: Offers a dedicated mode that makes it more useful for expecting parents following changes throughout pregnancy.
Q: Does this Withings scale measure body fat or muscle mass too?
A: No. Withings Body BMI Wifi Scale measures weight and calculates BMI, but it does not provide advanced body composition metrics like body fat or muscle mass. It suits buyers who want straightforward tracking rather than deeper fitness analysis.
Q: Can it sync without my phone being nearby every time?
A: Yes. Withings Body BMI Wifi Scale can sync over WiFi, so your phone does not need to be beside the scale for each weigh-in. Bluetooth is also supported, but the app is still needed on a compatible iOS or Android device for ongoing tracking.
Q: Will this scale work for a family with multiple profiles?
A: Yes. Withings Body BMI Wifi Scale supports up to 8 users and automatically recognises each profile to assign measurements in the app. That makes it a practical choice for shared bathrooms where more than one person wants separate tracking.
Q: What do you actually see on the scale display?
A: The display shows your weight, BMI and weight trends directly on the scale, so basic check-ins do not rely only on the app. The high-contrast screen is designed for easy reading in everyday bathroom use, not just for setup.
Q: Is the Withings Body scale app locked to Withings only?
A: No. Withings Body BMI Wifi Scale uses the Withings app as the main hub, and it can also connect with over 100 apps for broader fitness tracking. That is useful if you already log activity or nutrition somewhere else.
Q: How much weight can the black Body BMI Wifi Scale handle?
A: Withings Body BMI Wifi Scale has a maximum weight capacity of 180kg. That figure matters for purchase choice because going over the rated limit can affect normal operation, even if the scale suits most everyday household users.
