Q: Does this Vivitar stand charge a phone or only hold it?
A: No. Vivitar VCRMG5 is a magnetic phone stand, not a listed charger, and no charging cable or power feature is included. Buy it for hands-free positioning on a desk or in the car, not for topping up your phone.
Q: Will it work with phones that do not have MagSafe built in?
A: It is designed for smartphones with MagSafe. Phones without MagSafe built in are not listed as supported on their own, so direct magnetic attachment should not be assumed unless your case adds MagSafe-style compatibility.
Q: Is this a fixed car mount or a portable tripod-style stand?
A: It is a portable tripod-style smartphone stand. The design uses fold-out feet, a magnetic mount and a carabiner clip, so it suits temporary placement and travel better than a permanently attached windscreen or vent mount.
Q: Can the stand hold a phone in portrait and landscape modes?
A: Yes. Vivitar VCRMG5 is designed to switch between vertical and horizontal positioning, so it can suit maps, video calls or streaming. It remains a portable stand, not a locked-in mount intended for harsher vehicle movement.
Q: Is the carabiner clip meant for mounting or just carrying the stand?
A: The built-in carabiner clip is for carrying the stand during travel and keeping it attached to a bag or strap. It is not described as the phone-mounting point, so support still comes from the magnetic head and fold-out feet.
Q: How stable is the Vivitar VCRMG5 on a desk or table?
A: Vivitar VCRMG5 uses fold-out anti-slip padded feet to help the stand sit more securely on a flat surface. It is intended for desks, tables and similar spots, but it is still a lightweight portable stand rather than a heavy desktop base.
