    Very simple but powerful device

We use The Good Guys as our primary supplier. We noticed a number of smaller devices on their website, but they all needed some sort of Smart hub device. So we made the jump and purchased the one middle of the range. And we also purchased a water sensor for leaks. This got our attention because water leaks in houses can cause so much damage! So we purchased this Hub and the water sensor. All easy to setup and tested fine! Now we will simply add extra sensors as we find the need, and then them to the real world via. this hub. Very cool stuff :)

    Tapo Smart Hub H200

This Tapo Hub is fantastic, quite small in size and seems well made. You for have yo plug into your modem and the supplied cat cable is quite short so you need to mount close to your modem . Great for connecting all your tapo devices . Eg contact sensor or water detection and camera. Can connect over 60 items including doorbells. Good audible sound to alert you.. Has memory card slot aswell. Overall great unit and would recommend..

Q: What does the TP-LINK Tapo Smart Hub actually do in a Tapo system?

A: It acts as the control point for compatible Tapo sensors, buttons and selected cameras. It can also provide hub-based features such as alerts, automations and local recording support, which is useful if you want one place to manage connected devices.

Q: Which Tapo devices can be connected to this smart hub?

A: This hub is designed for compatible Tapo accessories such as sensors and smart buttons, plus selected Tapo cameras that support hub pairing. It does not work with every Tapo product, so hub compatibility needs to be listed on the specific device you plan to add.

Q: Can the TP-LINK Tapo Smart Hub store security footage locally?

A: Yes, compatible Tapo cameras can use the hub for local recording instead of relying only on cloud storage. That is useful if you want footage kept on-site, but only camera models that support hub storage can record through it.

Q: How is the TP-LINK Tapo Smart Hub set up for the first time?

A: Setup is done in the Tapo app, where the hub is added first and then each compatible accessory is paired to it. The main thing to check before buying is that every sensor or camera you want to use is a Tapo model that specifically supports this hub.

Q: Why would you choose the Tapo H200 hub instead of the H100?

A: The H200 suits buyers who want broader hub features, including support for selected Tapo cameras and local storage options. The H100 is more focused on basic sensor and chime use, so the better choice depends on whether cameras are part of the setup.
