    An Experience Worth Trying

At first I was skeptical, as these headphones are hyped everywhere I looked prior to purchase, with people saying they were revolutionary. So I folded. Here's the good. These headphones offer a unique listening experience, with haptic drivers that add real vibration to the headset, amplifying base feel like nothing else I've tried. The audio quality is good for me (not muddy or tinny), even without the haptics turned up. The battery life seems as marketed (I haven't had to charge them yet), after several hours use, and the connectivity has been seamless. The ear cups also provide a decent seal to block outside noise (as these lack ANC). Now for the wants. These headphones are a tight fit and the cushioning is too rigid for me. I've probably got a big head, but after an hour or two, without a hat/beanie/something in between, I can feel these digging into my head. They stay in place, and don't need readjustment which is nice, but I can definitely feel them on. Also, the ear cups are tight around the ears. Coming from a prior Razer headset, my ears are noticeably more cramped in these, something to be aware of if you like space. And lastly, the adjustable haptic slider, is a cool feature not a gimmick. (I haven't used the app). But, out of the box, the adjustment seems extreme, as it literally controls the vibration of the headset. I found that if set any higher than a quarter, the vibration response degrades the listening experience. When set in moderation, the feel of the vibration definitely enhances the base feel and audio experience. Any higher though and it feels like I have to actively focus on listening to music with a theragun strapped to my head. For ~$250 full price, these headphones seem too much for me; for a discount, well worth the investment. All in all, they are a good headset so far. Build quality is decent, battery doesn't need daily charging, connectivity is seamless, sound is impressive, and the haptics offer an audio experience like nothing else. I would advise trying them on in-store prior to purchase, but would recommend them if you are someone who wants to actually feel a thump when the bass note hits.

These are down right dangerously good. Biggest bottom end ever in headphones. The fit good on my big melon. But best of all they sound brilliant.

    Unique feel

Great sound and feel. Can get a little too hot for gym use. The haptic base can be a bit overstimulating in certain scenarios but there is a slider to adjust this to suit your situation Build quality is solid Overall a great unique headset that not like its competitors

At a glance

The Skullcandy Crusher Evo is a wireless over-ear headphone made for people who want strong, customisable bass for music, movies and daily listening. It suits commuters, gym users and casual listeners who enjoy a fun sound profile, long battery life and easy controls. Its biggest strength is the adjustable sensory bass experience, but it is less ideal for buyers seeking active noise cancelling or a neutral audiophile-style sound.

Things to consider

These headphones focus on immersive bass and personal tuning rather than active noise cancelling or studio-neutral sound, so premium ANC models and specialist audiophile headphones may suit critical listening or frequent flying better.

Noise cancelling effectiveness

4/10 - good passive isolation from the over-ear design, but no active noise cancelling for aircraft or very loud commutes

All-day comfort score

8/10 - over-ear fit and wireless freedom suit long sessions, though bass-focused headphones may feel less effortless than lighter premium pairs

Commuter suitability

8/10 - strong battery life, foldable design and onboard controls make them practical for daily travel, with the main trade-off being no ANC

Audiophile vs casual fit

Best for casual listeners who enjoy energetic, bass-forward sound rather than strict sound neutrality

Multi-device flexibility

7/10 - Bluetooth 5.0 and auto connect support everyday wireless use well, but there is no clear indication of advanced multi-point switching

Key benefits

  • Adjustable Sensory Bass: Lets you dial bass up or down to match different music, movies and personal taste.
  • Personal Sound by Mimi: Tailors audio to your hearing profile for a more personalised listening experience.
  • 40 Hours Battery Life: Supports extended listening across multiple days before needing a recharge.
  • Rapid Charge: A 10-minute charge delivers up to 4 hours of playback when you need a quick top-up.
  • Built-in Tile Finding Technology: Helps you locate the headphones if they are misplaced.
  • Call, Track and Volume Controls: Makes it easy to manage music and calls directly from the headphones.
  • Flat-Folding and Collapsible Design: Packs down more neatly for travel and everyday storage.
  • Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Connection: Provides convenient cable-free listening with modern device compatibility.

Q: Does the Skullcandy Crusher Evo have active noise cancelling?

A: No. Crusher Evo does not list active noise cancelling, so noise reduction comes mainly from the over-ear seal. That suits commuting and general listening, but it will not hush constant engine or office noise like an ANC model can.

Q: What does the Crusher Bass slider actually change on these headphones?

A: It adjusts the strength of Skullcandy's sensory bass effect, from a lighter low-end lift to a much stronger physical thump. Turning it higher adds more impact, but a moderate setting is usually better if you want bass without overwhelming vocals.

Q: Can the Skullcandy Crusher Evo be tuned to your hearing?

A: Yes. Crusher Evo supports Personal Sound through the Skullcandy app, which tailors playback to your hearing profile. It is useful if standard headphone tuning sounds too bright or too flat, and it works alongside the bass slider rather than replacing it.

Q: How long does the battery last, and is there a quick top-up option?

A: Battery life is rated at 40 hours of use, and Rapid Charge gives about 4 hours from a 10 minute charge. That suits week-long commuting or travel better than headphones that need charging every day, especially if Bluetooth is your main connection.

Q: Are the Skullcandy Crusher Evo headphones easy to carry in a bag?

A: Yes. Crusher Evo has a flat-folding, collapsible design, so it is easier to pack than fixed-frame over-ear headphones. It is still a full-size model, though, so it takes more room in a backpack than compact on-ear or true wireless options.

Q: Can you locate the Skullcandy Crusher Evo if you misplace them?

A: Yes. These headphones include built-in Tile finding technology, which helps track their last known location through the Tile system. It is handy for misplaced headphones around home or work, but it is not the same as live GPS tracking everywhere.
