Best Mid Range Smartphone
The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G stands out as a strong mid-range smartphone, offering reliable everyday performance without putting a strain on your budget. Its 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate is a key highlight, delivering vibrant visuals and fluid scrolling. Battery life is equally impressive, with a 5,000mAh capacity that comfortably lasts through a full day of use. The 50MP main camera performs well in daylight, capturing solid detail and natural colours, although low-light shots are more average. All in all, the Galaxy A36 5G is a dependable and well-equipped device, backed by a 2-year warranty and up to six years of software updates.

Things to consider
It is a strong everyday phone, but buyers wanting flagship-grade processing power, zoom photography or more advanced low-light camera results may be better served by a premium model.
Global travel suitability
Good for travel with its unlocked design, 5G support and strong battery life, but travellers should still confirm network band compatibility and charger needs for each destination.
Student vs business fit
Better suited to students and everyday users than business-heavy workflows, though it can comfortably handle calls, email, messaging and routine productivity.
Camera performance score
7.8/10 - strong for everyday photos, selfies and 4K video, but not as versatile or advanced as premium camera phones.
Battery endurance rating
8.8/10 - the 5000mAh battery is well suited to full-day general use, with 45W charging helping when you need a quicker top-up.
Key benefits
- 6.7 inch Super AMOLED display: Delivers bright, vivid visuals that make streaming, browsing and social media more enjoyable.
- 120Hz refresh rate: Makes scrolling, app navigation and supported games look smoother and feel more responsive.
- 128GB storage: Gives most users enough room for everyday apps, photos, videos and downloaded music.
- 5G connectivity: Supports faster mobile data performance on compatible Australian 5G networks where coverage is available.
- 50MP main rear camera: Helps capture detailed everyday photos for family moments, travel and social sharing.
- UHD 4K video at 30fps: Lets you record sharper, higher-resolution video clips for memories and content creation.
- 5000mAh battery: Supports all-day use for messaging, streaming, browsing and general daily tasks.
- 45W fast charging: Reduces charging downtime compared with slower standard charging options.
Q: Is 128GB enough storage on the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G for everyday use?
A: Yes. For most people, 128GB is enough for everyday apps, photos, messaging and music, with roughly 100GB or a little more typically usable after system files. Heavy video recording, offline movies and large games will fill it faster.
Q: How much usable storage should I expect on the Galaxy A36 5G 128GB out of the box?
A: A 128GB phone usually gives about 100GB to 110GB of usable space after Android, Samsung software and preloaded system files are accounted for. The exact free space varies slightly after setup, updates and installed apps.
Q: Will the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G work on Australian 5G networks?
A: Yes, if your mobile provider offers 5G in your area and your plan and SIM support it. In places without strong 5G coverage, the phone will use 4G instead, so actual speeds depend on your carrier, location and network congestion.
Q: Is the Galaxy A36 5G 128GB a good fit for streaming, social media and everyday multitasking?
A: Yes. This model is aimed at everyday use, so it suits streaming, web browsing, social apps, maps and general multitasking better than very basic entry phones. It is less suited to buyers chasing premium gaming power or flagship camera hardware.
Q: Does choosing the 128GB Galaxy A36 5G affect how long the phone stays practical to use?
A: Yes. Storage size affects how long a phone feels comfortable to live with, because updates, photos, videos and apps grow over time. A 128GB model is a sensible starting point for moderate use, but heavier users may need to manage space more often.
