Q: How much LPG does the Rinnai Avenger 25MJ heater use in real-world operation?
A: At the full 25MJ/h input, this heater typically uses about 0.5kg of LPG per hour. That means an 8.5kg cylinder may last roughly 16 to 17 hours on maximum heat, with longer run time if the burner cycles lower in a smaller room.
Q: Is the Rinnai Avenger 25MJ suitable for use with natural gas?
A: No. This Avenger model is the LPG version, so it is designed to run from bottled liquefied petroleum gas rather than natural gas. Fuel type is not interchangeable, so choose the correct gas version before purchase to avoid compatibility issues.
Q: What does unflued heating mean on the Rinnai Avenger 25MJ?
A: Unflued means the heater releases its combustion products into the room instead of venting them outside through a flue. It needs fresh-air ventilation during use, so it suits living areas better than enclosed rooms where airflow is limited.
Q: Does the Rinnai Avenger 25MJ need ventilation while it is running?
A: Yes. Because this is an unflued LPG convector heater, a source of fresh air is required while it operates, such as an open window or door. That is an important trade-off against flued models, which vent combustion gases outside.
Q: Is a 25MJ gas output better suited to larger rooms than smaller spaces?
A: Yes. A 25MJ/h heater is generally aimed at larger open-plan living areas or bigger rooms where a smaller portable gas heater may struggle. In a compact room, it can warm quickly, but the higher output may be more than needed for routine use.
Q: Do portable gas heaters like the Rinnai Avenger 25MJ need servicing?
A: Yes. Portable gas heaters should be checked periodically to keep the burner, ignition and safety systems working correctly. Regular servicing becomes more important with frequent winter use, older gas hoses or if the flame or ignition behaviour changes.
