Works great, can be a little delayed when someone goes past it but you still det the notification just a little later than you would like. I haven't checked our all the features yet but I have it set to just notice cars and people inside my fence and so far that bit has been great.

Excellent and should have installed one sooner. Now the whole family has one. Feel safe and easy to monitor.

The Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) with Chime (3rd Gen) is a battery-powered smart doorbell bundle designed for convenient front-door monitoring and alerts inside the home. It suits renters and homeowners who want flexible installation, clear head-to-toe coverage and Alexa-friendly smart home use. Key strengths are easy setup, improved low-light video and package monitoring potential. One limitation is that recorded video and some advanced features require a paid Ring plan.
Compared with more premium wired or 4K models, this battery doorbell trades some always-on convenience and top-end detail, and you will need a subscription for recorded video history and certain advanced smart alerts.
8/10 - Strong fit for Alexa households and supports IFTTT, but it does not support Apple HomeKit or Google Assistant.
High - battery power and easier installation make it a practical choice for renters who want front-door monitoring with less reliance on existing wiring.
9/10 - Head-to-toe coverage makes it well suited to checking parcels left at the door.
8/10 - improved low-light performance helps with clearer after-dark entry monitoring, though premium models may deliver more detail.
A: No. It can send live alerts, support Live View and two-way talk without a paid plan. A Ring Home plan is typically needed for recorded video history and some advanced smart alerts, so live viewing works but replay features are limited.
A: The main difference is video resolution and price position. This model uses Retinal 2K video, while Ring's battery Pro model moves to 4K, so the Pro suits buyers chasing more image detail, while this version stays lower in cost.
A: No. This model is designed around Amazon Alexa, and reviews also note support for IFTTT. If a smart home is built around Apple HomeKit or Google Assistant, that integration gap is worth considering before buying.
A: It means sharper video than basic HD doorbells and a taller viewing angle that helps show more of the area from head to toe. In practice, that makes it easier to see a visitor and items left near the doorstep in one frame.
A: Yes. This bundle includes the Chime (3rd Gen), which gives an audible alert indoors when someone presses the doorbell or motion is detected. That is useful if a phone is on silent or not nearby when someone arrives.
A: Yes. Dual-band Wi-Fi means it can use either 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks, which gives more flexibility than single-band models. In homes with a crowded 2.4GHz network, 5GHz can help with faster, more reliable live video response.
