Philips 5000 Series Sandwich Maker

  Very disappointing

  I got rid of my old toastie maker because it was starting to emit a bad, sort of teflon type, odor. Unfortunately, this one had an even worse smell from the very first time I used it. To make matters worse, it doesn't seem to cook the bread as, after 3 to 4 minutes, the bread is still white while the parts at the very edge are brown. I took a photo of my most recent toastie, and it looks inedible... wish I could share it with you so you could see what I mean. I'm going back to a toastie maker that has solid metal plates.. these inertable plates seem to be pure teflon :(

  Waffles made well, paninis does not work well with sandwiches, shame not useful to make sandwich toasties and have not tried triangle sandwiches. There no recipe ideas with this product. Useful if it gave recipe how to make Waffles

  It’s good but not great

  I love the removable plates it makes it so much easier to keep clean but otherwise it is just ok. If I’m being honest my previous no-name branded sandwich maker did a better job at cooking through evenly and sealing the pockets of the bread, the only reason I swapped it was because the old one was gross and I couldn’t get it clean enough so was suckered in by the removable plates of this one. I wouldn’t not recommend it but I think there’s better sandwich makers out there.
