It suits homes wanting straightforward everyday control, plus soundbar volume learning and app shortcuts. Its main limitation is that it is focused on TCL compatibility rather than broad universal device control or advanced features like voice input.

Things to consider
This remote is best for TCL televisions and basic audio control, but it does not offer premium extras such as voice control, backlit keys or broad multi-brand universal control out of the box.
Universal device compatibility score
6/10 - Strong fit for most TCL TVs, with some added audio control via learning, but not designed as a broad multi-brand universal remote.
Ease of setup rating
9/10 - For most TCL TVs, it is ready to use once batteries are inserted, with no programming required.
Elderly user suitability
Good - the straightforward button layout and no-setup operation make it easier for seniors than more complex universal remotes.
Smart home integration score
2/10 - Includes app shortcut keys, but there is no supported voice control or smart home platform integration.
Button layout usability
8/10 - Designed to feel familiar and simple for everyday TV use, with quick access to core controls and streaming shortcuts.
Key benefits
- Ready-to-use TCL setup: Works with most TCL TVs without setup, so you can insert 2 batteries and start using it straight away.
- Straightforward button layout: Clear, familiar controls make everyday channel, volume and menu navigation easier.
- Audio learning function: Can learn volume and mute commands from another remote, helping reduce the need to keep a separate soundbar remote nearby.
- App shortcut keys: Gives faster access to supported streaming apps installed on your TV.
- Replacement for older TCL and Thomson models: Useful for households with compatible older TCL televisions, including Thomson-branded sets.
- Comfortable in-hand size: The slim 23.0 cm x 3.9 cm x 1.58 cm body is easy to hold and simple to spot on a TV stand or coffee table.
- Black finish: Neutral styling blends in easily with most entertainment setups.
- 1-year manufacturer’s warranty: Adds reassurance for a common replacement purchase.
Q: Will this remote work with any TCL TV, including older Thomson-branded models?
A: Yes. The URC4922 is designed as a replacement for 100% of TCL TV models and is also stated to work with Thomson TVs. Most TCL televisions should work without setup, but batteries need to be fitted before first use.
Q: Can this remote control a soundbar as well as the TV?
A: Yes. Its Audio Feature lets the remote handle TV functions and soundbar or audio receiver volume and mute together, reducing the need for a second remote. Other soundbar controls may still depend on how the audio device is set up.
Q: Do I need remote codes to set up this One For All TCL remote on a non-TCL TV?
A: No. For other TV brands, this model supports One For All SimpleSet, which is designed to program the TV in 3 steps in under 30 seconds. That makes it more flexible than a basic TCL-only replacement remote.
Q: What does the learning feature do on the URC4922?
A: The learning feature lets this remote copy commands from an existing working remote onto chosen buttons. It is useful if a specific key you use often is missing from the default layout, but it needs the original remote to teach those commands.
Q: Are the streaming shortcut buttons locked to certain apps?
A: No. The remote includes 3 app shortcut keys, and the product information says they can link to Freeview Play, YouTube, Netflix or another online streaming app. Actual app response still depends on what your TCL TV supports and has installed.
