Family size fit
Medium to large families
Water efficiency score
9/10 - 6 star WELS rating and 9.6 L per Eco cycle are strong results for a full-size 15-place-setting dishwasher.
Noise level vs category
8/10 - 42 dBA is quieter than many standard full-size dishwashers and well suited to open-plan homes.
Ease of use rating
9/10 - automatic detergent dispensing, flexible racks, Knock2Open access and 15 wash programs make daily use very convenient.
Key benefits
- XXL cavity: Extra internal height makes it easier to fit larger plates, stemware and taller items in one load.
- 15 place settings: Handles large daily loads well, making it a strong fit for family homes and entertaining.
- Knock2Open: Lets the door open from a knock, helping it suit handleless cabinetry and streamlined kitchen designs.
- AutoDos with PowerDisk: Automatically dispenses detergent for each cycle, reducing the need for manual dosing.
- AutoOpen drying: Helps improve drying results at the end of the cycle, especially for everyday mixed loads.
- 42 dBA noise level: Quiet performance helps reduce disruption in open-plan kitchens and evening wash cycles.
- 4.5 star energy rating: Delivers strong cleaning with a 4.5 star Australian energy rating for better efficiency than lower-rated alternatives.
- 6 star WELS water rating, 9.6 L per Eco cycle: Helps keep water use low on the Eco program while still handling full-size family loads.
Q: What does SCVi XXL mean on the Miele G 7799 dishwasher?
A: SCVi means a fully integrated model with the controls hidden on the top edge of the door. XXL refers to Miele’s taller built-in cavity format, giving extra internal height for larger plates and stemware than standard integrated models.
Q: Does the Miele G 7799 SCVi XXL AutoDos K2O need a separate door panel?
A: Yes. This dishwasher is supplied as a fully integrated unit and the kitchen door panel is sold separately. That helps it match surrounding cabinetry, but the final look depends on using a panel made to suit the appliance’s dimensions and weight.
Q: How does Knock2Open work on this dishwasher, and when is it most useful?
A: Knock2Open releases the door with a tap on the front, so it is most useful in handleless kitchens where a visible handle would interrupt the cabinetry line. It is a design and access feature, not a performance upgrade, and still requires a fitted door panel.
Q: What does AutoDos with PowerDisk change in day-to-day use?
A: AutoDos automatically dispenses detergent from a fitted PowerDisk during the wash, so there is no need to add powder or tablets each cycle. It suits busy households wanting consistent dosing, but it does rely on Miele’s compatible PowerDisk system.
Q: Is 42 dB quiet for a fully integrated dishwasher like this one?
A: Yes. At 42 dB, this model sits in the very quiet end of the dishwasher range and is well suited to open-plan kitchens. In practical terms, it is usually less intrusive than normal conversation or a television playing nearby.
