At a glance
The Logitech G840 is an extra large cloth mouse pad made for gamers and desk users who want one wide surface for both keyboard and mouse. It suits low-sensitivity play, broad mouse movements and tidy setups, with reliable tracking and a grippy rubber base. Its main limitation is that the soft cloth surface prioritises control over the faster glide some speed-focused players may prefer.

Things to consider
This pad is tuned more for controlled glide than very fast movement, so players who prefer hard surfaces or ultra-speed mouse pads may want a more specialised option.
Home office suitability
8/10 - wide desk coverage and a neat full-surface layout make it practical for keyboard, mouse and everyday work setups.
Gaming compatibility score
9/10 - extra large size, controlled cloth glide and stable rubber base suit low-sensitivity and FPS-style gaming well.
Student use fit
7/10 - useful for study and gaming desks, though its large footprint may not suit smaller shared spaces.
Device compatibility range
Compatible with modern optical and laser gaming mice
Plug-and-play simplicity
Very simple - just place it on your desk and start using it with your mouse and keyboard
Key benefits
- 900 x 400 mm Surface: Gives you a single extra large area for both your keyboard and mouse, helping create a cleaner and more flexible desk layout.
- Cloth Surface: Supports consistent tracking and controlled glide for users who value accuracy and stable mouse movement.
- 3 mm Thickness: Adds a comfortable layer between your desk and gear while helping smooth out minor surface imperfections.
- Rubber Underside: Helps keep the pad in place during intense gaming sessions and daily work use.
- Optical and Laser Mouse Compatibility: Works well with modern gaming mice for dependable sensor performance across different setups.
- Flexible Desk Coverage: Makes it easier to position your keyboard and mouse the way you want for gaming or productivity.
- Black Finish: Blends easily into most gaming and office setups for a neat, understated look.
- Full Desktop Design: Protects a larger section of your desk surface while giving your mouse more room for broad movements.
Q: Will the G840 fit both a full-size keyboard and mouse?
A: Yes. Logitech G840 gives you a single 900 x 400mm surface for both keyboard and mouse, so it suits full-size setups and broad mouse movement. It works best on wider desks, because compact workspaces may not leave much free space around it.
Q: Is this mouse pad better for control or fast glide?
A: Logitech G840 is tuned more for control than raw speed. The cloth surface gives consistent tracking with moderate friction, which suits accurate aiming and broad movements. If you prefer a very slick, hard-pad feel, this is not that style.
Q: Do you need Logitech G HUB or software to use it?
A: No. Logitech G840 is a passive cloth mouse pad, so there is nothing to install and no software needed to start using it. Just place it on the desk and use it with a compatible mouse. It does not add lighting or programmable functions.
Q: Does the Logitech G840 work with optical and laser mice?
A: Yes. Logitech G840 is designed for modern optical and laser gaming mice, so sensor tracking should be reliable across common wired and wireless models. It is a surface accessory only, so mouse features still depend on the mouse itself.
Q: Is the G840 too large for a compact desk setup?
A: Yes, it can be. Logitech G840 measures 900 x 400mm, which suits buyers who want one continuous surface under the keyboard and mouse. On a smaller desk, it can take up most of the usable area and leave less room for other accessories.
Q: Will the rubber base stop it moving during gaming?
A: Yes. Logitech G840 has a rubber underside designed to hold the pad in place during fast swipes and heavier keyboard use. It is not fixed to the desk, though, so dust or a very slick surface can reduce grip compared with a clean desk.
