Things to consider
Does not use mechanical switches, so key feel and responsiveness may not match premium gaming keyboards.
Work vs gaming suitability
Strong gaming focus with solid everyday typing comfort; best for gaming but suitable for general use.
Ergonomics score
7/10 - Integrated palm rest and adjustable feet improve comfort, but lacks advanced ergonomic shaping.
Multi-device compatibility
Single-device USB connection; not designed for multi-device switching.
Portability rating
4/10 - Full-size design and integrated palm rest make it less portable than compact keyboards.
Noise level vs category
6/10 - Quieter than mechanical gaming keyboards, but not as silent as low-profile or membrane-only models.
Key benefits
- Mech-Dome Keys: Delivers tactile feedback and 4mm key travel for a satisfying typing and gaming experience.
- Spill Resistance: Protects against accidental liquid spills for added durability.
- Customisable RGB Lighting: Five lighting zones with up to 16.8 million colours to match your setup.
- Dedicated Media Controls: Easily adjust volume, play, pause, and skip tracks without leaving your game.
- Integrated Palm Rest: Provides extra comfort during long gaming or typing sessions.
- Anti-Ghosting: Ensures reliable key registration during fast-paced gaming.
- Adjustable Feet: Allows you to set the keyboard angle for personalised comfort.
- Whisper-Quiet Operation: Mech-Dome keys are quieter than mechanical switches, reducing noise in shared spaces.
Q: Is the Logitech G213 a mechanical keyboard or a membrane keyboard?
A: The Logitech G213 is a membrane keyboard that uses Mech-Dome switches rather than true mechanical switches. It is designed to give a more tactile feel with 4mm key travel and 50g actuation, while staying quieter than many mechanical boards.
Q: Can you replace the keycaps on the Logitech G213?
A: No, the G213 is not as flexible for keycap swapping as a standard mechanical keyboard. Because it uses Mech-Dome membrane switches, aftermarket mechanical keycap sets are generally not a straightforward fit, which matters if customisation is a priority.
Q: Do you need Logitech software to control the lighting on the G213?
A: Yes, Logitech software is needed to customise the G213's RGB lighting zones and profile settings. Without software, the keyboard still works for typing and gaming, but colour control and lighting effects are much more limited.
Q: What is the difference between the Logitech G213 and Logitech G413?
A: The main difference is switch type and design. The G213 uses quieter Mech-Dome membrane keys with a built-in palm rest and spill resistance, while the G413 is a more mechanical-style board aimed at buyers who want a firmer, more switch-driven feel.
Q: Is the Logitech G213 suitable if you want a quieter gaming keyboard?
A: Yes, the G213 is a lower-noise option than many mechanical keyboards. Its Mech-Dome keys are quieter than louder clicky switch designs, so it suits shared rooms or late-night gaming.
