At a glance
The LG Sound Suite M5 is a compact wireless speaker designed for smaller rooms that want fuller, more immersive sound from a single unit. It suits movie watchers and music listeners who value easy streaming, flexible placement and Dolby Atmos support with compatible LG TVs. Its key strengths are simplicity, wireless connectivity and space-saving design, but 50W output limits its impact compared with larger premium sound systems.

Things to consider
As a single compact 50W speaker, it will not deliver the same room-filling scale, bass depth or surround separation as larger multi-speaker soundbar and subwoofer systems.
Tv compatibility score
8/10 - Best suited to compatible LG TVs using Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, with broader usefulness as a standalone wireless speaker.
Movie night suitability
7/10 - Immersive height effects help with films, but the single compact unit has less scale and bass impact than larger home cinema setups.
Music playback quality
8/10 - Strong everyday music performance with Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support in a compact form.
Room size suitability
Best for small rooms
Installation ease
Easy - wireless connectivity keeps placement flexible, though mains power is still required.
Key benefits
- 1.1.1 Channel Audio: Combines main, bass and height channels in one compact speaker for fuller sound than basic single-channel designs.
- Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: Adds a more spacious, overhead-style sound effect when paired with compatible LG TVs for more immersive movie viewing.
- 50W Total Output: Delivers enough power for clear everyday listening in smaller rooms such as bedrooms, studies and compact living areas.
- Bluetooth 5.4: Makes it easy to stream audio wirelessly from supported phones, tablets and other compatible devices.
- Wi-Fi Streaming: Supports stable wireless playback over your home network for convenient everyday listening.
- Spotify Connect Support: Lets you play music directly from Spotify without relying on constant Bluetooth control from your phone.
- Tidal Connect Support: Gives compatible users a simple way to stream music directly from the Tidal app.
- LG ThinQ App Compatibility: Enables app-based control and smart home integration for easier everyday management.
Q: Is the LG Sound Suite M5 a true wireless speaker?
A: Yes, it is wireless in use, so it is designed to connect without a speaker cable running back to a receiver or soundbar. It still needs mains power at its location, so placement is flexible but not completely cable free.
Q: What does 1.1.1 channel mean on the LG Sound Suite M5?
A: It means this speaker combines one main audio channel, one bass channel and one height channel in a single unit. In practice, that helps it add fuller sound and overhead Atmos effects, rather than acting like a simple stereo speaker.
Q: Do you need a compatible LG TV to use Dolby Atmos FlexConnect with the M5?
A: Yes, FlexConnect is intended to work with compatible LG TVs that support that feature. The speaker can still play audio as a wireless speaker, but the flexible Atmos positioning and TV-led calibration depend on TV compatibility.
Q: Can one LG Sound Suite M5 replace a soundbar on its own?
A: No, not in the same way a soundbar does. A single M5 can add immersive sound and a height effect, but a soundbar is still the better fit if you want the front left, centre and right channels projected from one unit under the TV.
Q: Is this LG Sound Suite M5 speaker the same product as LG's M5 OLED TV series?
A: No, they are different product types. This listing is for LG's Sound Suite M5 wireless speaker with 1.1.1 channel audio and Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, not the LG M5 OLED television range sold in 55, 65, 77, 83 or 97 inch sizes.
