5 months in and the audio become flaky, same as wifi network

It seemed great in the first few months, and then the audio and wifi started playing up. The laptop randomly lost audio and wifi. Sometimes they came back, sometimes it required rebooting. The audio issue happened on more regular basis, can be hourly on and off. Extremely annoying. I've updated/reinstalled drivers but the issue didn't go away. Lodged a ticket with Lenovo but 3 days in and I am still not hearing from them. Lenovo and ARM combination is just bad.

Nice quick machine with good battery life

This is the first Windows laptop powered by the Snapdragon Elite processor I've purchased. I must say I'm pressed with the login speed, overall performance and battery life of the laptop. The screen is also a cut above most I've used in terms of colour vibrancy. I am only running Windows plus Office (including Teams) - so fairly mainstream applications. I cannot comment on obscure and old apps.

    Lenova Yoga Slim 7x

The computer is quick and intuitive. The battery life is great. The Oled display is superb. Unfortunately the Snapdragon processor is ahead of its time I think. It is definitely not compatible with my Brother printer scanner. As a result I have lost some really good printer functionality.

    Waste of time and money

This is supposed to be a premium touch screen computer, yet it has been deliberately designed to not be compatible with a stylus, what is the point? Suitable for browsing the internet, if that’s all you want to do don’t waste your money, by something basic for fraction of the price. If you do want to do more than browse the internet, also don’t buy this computer, it’s likely incompatible/unsuitable.

    New Laptop, couldn't be happier

Drove down to my local The Good Guys store in Chatswood, where I've bought a few items in the past couple of years (Fridge, Dyson, soundbar etc...) After advice from a sales representative I went with Lenovo as it ticked all the boxes.

Things to consider

Best suited to productivity and general-use workloads rather than high-end gaming or advanced 3D creation, and users with older USB-A or HDMI accessories may need adapters.

Student suitability

High - portable, premium screen quality and strong multitasking make it well suited to study, research and assignments.

Gaming suitability score

5/10 - fine for casual and lighter titles, but not aimed at serious gaming or graphics-heavy specialist workloads.

Portability rating

8/10 - slim build and a 14.5-inch form factor make it easy to carry for work, study and travel.

Battery endurance rating

7/10 - designed as a mobile Copilot+ PC for on-the-go use, though real-world endurance depends on brightness, apps and workload.

Pro vs casual fit

Best for professionals and students who want a premium everyday laptop; less ideal for specialist gaming or workstation-class use.

Key benefits

  • 3K OLED touchscreen: Delivers a sharper, more vivid viewing experience for documents, streaming and creative tasks.
  • 90Hz display: Makes scrolling, window movement and everyday navigation look smoother than a standard 60Hz panel.
  • Ultra-slim design: Easier to carry between classes, meetings and travel days without feeling bulky.
  • 14.5-inch screen size: Gives you more working room than many compact laptops while still staying travel friendly.
  • Touch display: Adds a more flexible way to browse, tap, scroll and present content.
  • 32GB memory: Helps keep demanding multitasking responsive when running many tabs, apps and video calls at once.
  • 1TB SSD storage: Provides generous space for files, apps and media while keeping load times fast.
  • Three USB-C ports: Offers flexible modern connectivity for charging, accessories and external displays.

Q: Is the Lenovo Yoga S7 14.5 suitable for Microsoft Office, web work and heavy multitasking?

A: Yes. The Snapdragon X Elite processor and 32GB of memory make it well suited to Office, browser-heavy workloads, video calls and running several apps at once. It is a better fit for mainstream productivity than niche legacy software.

Q: Will all Windows apps and printer or scanner drivers work properly on this Copilot+ PC?

A: No. Because this model uses a Snapdragon ARM processor, most current mainstream apps run well, but some older Windows programs, utilities and peripheral drivers may have limited features or no native support. Check critical software before buying.

Q: Can the RAM be upgraded later on the Lenovo 83ED000BAU?

A: No. The 32GB memory in this model is onboard rather than user-upgradeable, so the installed capacity is the one to choose for the long term. The 1TB SSD gives plenty of local storage, but memory expansion is not the usual upgrade path here.

Q: Is the 14.5 inch 3K OLED touchscreen better for creative work and media than a standard laptop screen?

A: Yes. The 2944 x 1899 OLED panel delivers very sharp text, strong contrast and richer colour than many standard laptop displays, while 90Hz makes scrolling look smoother. Like many glossy touchscreens, reflections can be more noticeable in bright light.

Q: Do the three USB-C ports mean adapters may be needed for older accessories or external displays?

A: Yes. With three USB-C ports and no listed USB-A, HDMI or SD card slot, many older accessories will need an adapter or dock. For monitors, check that the display accepts USB-C or that your adapter supports video output over USB-C.

Q: Is this Lenovo Yoga S7 a good choice for PC gaming?

A: No, not as a dedicated gaming laptop. The Qualcomm Adreno graphics are better suited to everyday graphics, streaming and lighter titles than demanding AAA games, and some Windows games or anti-cheat systems can still be hit and miss on ARM laptops.
