Meh….Pretty Ordinary
The build is nice enough, nice screen but the games loaded on it are rubbish and there is no clear instructions on how to load more games. It’s just very plain!

At a glance
The Laser 3.5" Handheld Retro Gaming Console is a compact portable gaming device for casual players, retro fans and anyone wanting quick pick-up-and-play entertainment. Its strengths are built-in licensed games, broad classic emulator support, Wi-Fi multiplayer and a rechargeable 3000mAh battery. A fair limitation is that its small 3.5-inch screen is better for personal play than long sessions or shared viewing.

Q: Can you add your own games to this handheld console?
A: Yes. This console can load legally owned game files from a micro SD card. The card needs to be FAT32 and no larger than 64 GB, and unsupported file types or differently formatted cards may not be recognised by the system.
Q: What micro SD card works with the Laser retro console?
A: It supports a micro SD card up to 64 GB when the card is formatted to FAT32. Larger cards, or cards using NTFS or exFAT, may not be recognised, so the safest choice is a correctly formatted card within that capacity.
Q: Can the Laser handheld play newer console games as well?
A: No. Laser 3.5" Handheld Retro Gaming Console is built for retro titles and compatible older file formats, not current big-budget releases. It is best treated as a portable classic gaming device, not a modern handheld replacement.
Q: Which game file types can this console read from micro SD?
A: This console reads several retro file types, including NES, Game Boy, Mega Drive, PS1 and PSP formats, plus arcade ZIP files. Files need to be copied into the matching folder names on the card or they may not appear in the menu.
Q: Why might added games not show up on the console?
A: Added games usually fail to appear when the card is not FAT32, the folder names do not match the required structure, or the file type is unsupported. This console reads games from the TF menu, not automatically from every file placed on the card.
Q: Does online multiplayer need Wi-Fi on this handheld?
A: Yes. Online multiplayer uses the console's Wi-Fi connection, so it suits play where a network is available. It is still mainly a retro handheld, so Wi-Fi support does not turn it into a modern app-based gaming device.
