Pretty good for office use
Good little monitor to use as a secondary screen if mainly for office use. When playing games you can’t rely on it as the hertz is only capped at 60. Still pretty good vaule.

BRILLIANT MONITOR!!!
I'm so pleased I purchased this monitor, it has all the features I was looking for. It is incredibly light to carry and use on your lap. It also includes the cables you will need for setup. I am using it with a Chromecast with Google TV and it is perfect on my lap to watch all my shows due to it's inbuilt speakers and stand. For higher volume you could use the headphone socket to attach speakers or headphones. There are buttons on the side to adjust screen brightness, contrast, sharpness, aspect , volume etc. Easily connected to your phone or a tablet. This ticks all the boxes for me and is highly recommended.

Must Have Product!
Great as a second monitor for your desktop, ideal as a projects monitor with a Raspberry Pi. Powered via the USB C port, the one cable powers the unit as well as provides the video and audio signal making it ideal for portability. Panel quality is crisp and clean, light weight and does its job perfectly. Planning on using this in a small retro arcade setup.

Things to consider
This model is focused on portability and everyday versatility, so users wanting stronger built-in audio or more premium display features may prefer a higher-end portable monitor.
Travel suitability
High - light 0.57 kg build and slim 12 mm profile make it well suited to commuting and travel.
Multi-device compatibility
High - works with USB-C and Mini HDMI devices including laptops, tablets, phones and HDMI-only sources.
Portability rating
9/10 - very light and slim for easy packing and mobile use.
Ease of setup score
8/10 - straightforward USB-C or Mini HDMI connection, though some HDMI setups also require external USB-C power.
Business presentation fit
8/10 - good for extending screens and sharing content in meetings, with wide viewing angles and basic built-in speakers.
Key benefits
- Lightweight Design: At 0.57 kg, it is easy to carry between home, office and travel setups.
- Slim Profile: The 12 mm body fits neatly into a laptop bag or backpack without adding much bulk.
- 16:10 Screen Shape: Extra vertical viewing space makes documents, spreadsheets and web pages more comfortable to work on.
- Wide Viewing Angle: The 178 degree viewing angle helps when sharing content with colleagues, classmates or clients.
- Dual USB-C Connectivity: Two USB-C ports support convenient connection options for modern laptops, tablets and phones.
- Mini HDMI Input: It can connect to HDMI-only devices for broader compatibility across work and entertainment gear.
- Built-In Stand and VESA Support: Flexible placement makes it easier to use on a desk, temporary workspace or mounted setup.
- Adaptive Sync Support: AMD FreeSync helps reduce screen tearing during fast-moving video or gameplay.
Q: Can one USB-C cable handle power and display from a laptop?
A: Yes. A compatible USB-C laptop can send video, audio and power to the monitor through one USB-C connection. Devices that use USB-C only for charging or data will need the Mini HDMI input and separate USB-C power.
Q: Will it work with older laptops or devices that only have HDMI?
A: Yes. HDMI-only devices can connect through the Mini HDMI input, but the monitor also needs power through USB-C. For that setup, connect the video cable first, then run the USB-C power cable to a wall adapter before selecting HDMI input.
Q: Will this portable monitor work with my phone or tablet?
A: Yes, if the phone or tablet supports video output through USB-C. Devices without USB-C video output cannot use a single-cable setup, so compatibility depends on the source device rather than the monitor alone.
Q: Are the built-in speakers enough for meetings and casual streaming?
A: Yes. The integrated 2 x 1W speakers are suitable for basic audio such as presentations, video calls and casual viewing. They are not intended to replace separate speakers when you want fuller sound or higher volume in a larger room.
Q: Is the 16:10 screen shape better for documents and spreadsheets?
A: The 16:10 screen shape gives more vertical room than a standard widescreen layout, so it shows more of a document or spreadsheet at once. Combined with the 1920 x 1200 resolution, it suits work apps better than a movie-first screen shape.
Q: Can I mount this portable monitor on a desk arm?
A: Yes. This model has a VESA mount option, so it can be used on compatible mounting hardware instead of only the built-in stand. That makes it easier to set up as a more fixed second screen when you are back at a desk.
Q: Is this portable monitor suitable for gaming as well as work?
A: Laser PC-14PTMB-004 supports AMD FreeSync, which helps reduce screen tearing in fast-moving content. It is still a general-purpose portable monitor, so it makes more sense for casual gaming and work than for buyers chasing specialist gaming features.
