Portable DVD with a big screen
This portable DVD has a bigger screen than the ones I have used in the past. It also has a great feature that you can angle the screen as well. It is good value and so far it has worked really well. I would recommend it it you want a portable DVD with a bigger screen.

Decent DVD player for the car
Decent DVD player that held up in the car to keep my kids occupied whilst we travelled on our road trip. Screen is a good size and sound is loud enough. Comes with a handy carry case. Also meant we had something to watch at night in our cabin.. also Got two for a really good price.

Good travel dvd player
Bought this did player for the kids for a road trip. It has worked well but sometimes doesn’t read certain dvds. The battery life seems to be less than 4 hours as it needed charging after it has been on for 3 hours. Overall it’s easy to use and the kids enjoyed watching dvds on it.

Useful travel dvd player
I bought this dvd player for my child for car trips. So far it’s worked well but it does run out of battery reasonably fast and I thought it would last longer. I’m sure it didn’t last 4 hours like stated. Overall it’s works well but it did have some issues playing a few dvds and I’m not sure why. I would recommend it to keep the kids busy on long car trips.

Great for the car
Anti skip technology makes this perfect for car use. The size is good and it comes with many peripherals in the box - storage case, car charger etc. Recommend for family with young kids who like to travel.

At a glance
The Laser 10-inch Portable DVD Player is a travel-friendly media player suited to car trips, flights and portable entertainment at home. Its anti-skip playback, swivel screen and broad disc support make it practical for families and frequent travellers. Battery and 12V car use add flexibility. The main limitation is that the 10-inch screen is best for one viewer or two seated close together, rather than group viewing.

Things to consider
Compared with premium portable media players or tablets, the 10-inch screen and about 2-hour battery life are more suited to personal viewing and shorter sessions.
Home cinema suitability
5/10 - best for personal or close-up viewing rather than a full-room home cinema setup.
Ease of use score
8/10 - straightforward portable design with familiar disc playback, swivel screen and included car power support.
Multi-format compatibility
High - supports DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, SVCD, CD-R, CD-RW and compatible AVI, DivX, MP3, XVid, JPEG and GIF files.
Family suitability
8/10 - well suited to kids and family travel thanks to anti-skip playback, headphone support and headrest-style use.
Portability rating
9/10 - lightweight at 0.88 kg, compact, battery-powered and supplied with a car adaptor for travel use.
Key benefits
- 10-inch LCD screen: Delivers a clear personal viewing size for movies and shows while travelling or relaxing away from a TV.
- 180-degree swivel display: Makes it easier to set a comfortable viewing angle on a tray table, bench or car headrest.
- Anti-skip playback: Helps keep video and audio more stable over bumps and vibration during car travel.
- Region-free DVD playback: Lets you play discs from all DVD region codes for more flexible use with international collections.
- Broad media support: Plays DVD, CD and compatible digital file formats including AVI, DivX, MP3, XVid, JPEG and GIF for wider content access.
- Built-in rechargeable battery: The 7.4V 1600mAh Li-Ion battery provides around 2 hours of cordless viewing for short trips and waiting times.
- 12V car power adaptor included: Supports longer use on the road without relying only on battery runtime.
- 3.5mm headphone output: Enables private listening, which is useful for shared travel spaces and quieter viewing.
Q: How long does the battery last away from car power?
A: Laser DVD-PT-10D runs for around 2 hours on its built-in 7.4V 1600mAh battery. That suits a shorter trip or part of a movie, but longer journeys usually need the included 12V car adaptor.
Q: Will it play DVDs bought overseas or different TV systems?
A: Yes. Laser DVD-PT-10D is region-free for DVD region codes and supports PAL, NTSC and MULTI colour systems. That makes it suitable for mixed disc collections bought in different countries, as long as the disc itself is readable.
Q: Can this portable DVD player play movies from a USB?
A: Yes. It can play compatible files from USB, including AVI, MP3, XVid, JPEG and GIF. USB support is format-specific rather than universal, so unsupported file types or codecs may not open even if the drive is detected.
Q: Does the anti-skip feature stop playback issues on rough roads?
A: No. Anti-skip is designed to reduce interruptions from bumps and vibration, not eliminate them in every situation. Laser DVD-PT-10D is better suited to normal road travel than very rough tracks or heavy constant movement.
Q: Can it be mounted behind a car headrest?
A: Yes. The supplied carry case doubles as a headrest holder, so the player can hang from the back of a front seat. That setup is usually more secure for car use than resting the unit on a lap or loose bag.
Q: Is this suitable for two kids watching in the back?
A: Yes, if they are seated close together. The 10 inch screen and built-in speaker suit shared viewing at short range, but there is only one 3.5mm headphone port, so private listening is simpler for one listener than two.
