At a glance
The Karcher KHB 4-18 is a lightweight handheld medium pressure cleaner for quick outdoor jobs like bikes, bins, toys and planters. It suits homeowners who want portable, easy-to-store cleaning and already have a compatible Karcher 18V battery. Its key strengths are mobility, simple setup and versatile spray options. The main limitation is that its 21 bar pressure is better for lighter cleaning than heavy-duty grime removal.

Garden size suitability
Best for small gardens, courtyards and quick cleaning around compact outdoor spaces
Ease of use score
9/10 - lightweight build, simple handheld format and easy setup make it approachable for casual users
Noise level vs category
Lower than many full-size pressure washers due to its compact handheld medium-pressure design
Multi-tasking flexibility
8/10 - well suited to a range of light cleaning tasks thanks to the 5-in-1 nozzle and optional accessory support
Portability rating
10/10 - at 1.3 kg with a compact body and collapsible water setup, it is highly portable for around-home use
Key benefits
- 21 bar cleaning pressure: Delivers more cleaning power than a standard garden hose for everyday outdoor dirt.
- Up to 170 L/h flow rate: Supports quick rinsing for small items and short cleaning tasks.
- Lightweight 1.3 kg body: Easier to carry, lift and use one-handed around the garden.
- 5-in-1 multi jet nozzle: Lets you switch spray settings to suit different surfaces and cleaning jobs.
- Collapsible water bucket: Makes it easier to clean where a tap is not close by and stores away compactly after use.
- Suction hose capability: Allows water draw from alternative sources for more flexible outdoor cleaning.
- Skin only design: A practical option for users who already own a compatible Karcher 18V Battery Power battery and charger.
- Garden hose adapter included: Helps you get started quickly with a straightforward connection option.
Q: Does this Karcher cleaner need a tap connection to work?
A: No. Karcher KHB 4-18 can run away from a tap using the foldable water tank and suction hose, and a garden hose adapter is included for direct hose connection. It is still intended for lighter cleaning jobs, not large-area heavy grime.
Q: What battery fits the KHB 4-18 skin only model?
A: Karcher KHB 4-18 Skin Only is designed for buyers who already have a Karcher 18V Battery Power battery. A battery and charger are not included in the box, so this version makes the most sense if you are already on that battery platform.
Q: Is 21 bar pressure enough for bikes and outdoor furniture?
A: Yes. Karcher KHB 4-18 is built for lighter jobs such as bikes, bins, toys and garden items, where 21 bar is enough to lift everyday dirt faster than a standard hose. It is not the right pick for deep-set grime on large hard surfaces.
Q: Can it replace a full size pressure washer for driveways?
A: No. This handheld cleaner is aimed at quick, lighter outdoor cleaning rather than big, stubborn jobs. Its 21 bar output and portable design suit bikes, flower tubs and small areas better than heavily soiled driveways or long fence lines.
Q: How portable is the Karcher KHB 4-18 for quick jobs?
A: Karcher KHB 4-18 weighs 1.3kg, so it is easy to carry between smaller cleaning tasks and simple to store when finished. The compact body and foldable water tank make more sense for spot cleaning than for long, continuous jobs.
Q: What does the 5-in-1 nozzle actually change when cleaning?
A: The 5-in-1 multi jet nozzle lets this cleaner switch between spray patterns for different surfaces without changing separate tips. That makes it easier to move from toys to bikes, though it remains a light-duty cleaner rather than a stripping tool.
