Expandable
The expandable feature is fantastic and it can drain the water down the sink via the channel or keep the water enclosed within it, which is how I use it in me campervan. It doesn't take up much room when not expanded. I would recommend it to anyone.

Must have stylish and functional dish rack!
This dish rack is so well made and designed taking it to the next level in kitchen functionality! It’s expandable making it more functional depending on your wash size. It contains a really sturdy wire rack to hold up dishes that is also removable. The cutlery container slots into the rack as well as being removable depending on your needs. The best thing is it has a moveable drainage plug with a funnel attached to drain water away into the sink that retracts neatly underneath when not in use!

Good product but a bit flimsy
Works as depicted and looks good. But not solid, flimsy racking system that moves and the extendable bit collapses when used. Works well small

Nice addition
I recently got a smaller sink so needed a smaller drainer and this was a great option. I could custom it to exactly the width I needed and contract it when not in use.

At a glance
This expandable dish rack is a practical bench-top drying solution for households that want flexible capacity without using a large amount of space every day. It suits apartments, family kitchens and anyone who hand-washes regularly, with smart drainage and easy-clean parts as key strengths. Its main limitation is that it is still a bench-top rack, so it will take up visible counter space when in use.

Things to consider
It offers flexible capacity and smart drainage, but it is not as compact as fold-flat drying mats or as high-capacity as larger specialist racks for very heavy daily washing loads.

Key benefits
- Expandable Design: Extends to almost twice its width so you can keep it compact day to day and open it up for larger loads.
- Moveable Cutlery Drainer: Lets you rearrange the layout to better suit utensils, plates and mixed washing loads.
- Removable Draining Prongs: Makes it easier to clean the rack after use and adapt the space for different items.
- Raised Ribs: Helps reduce water being trapped under glasses and bowls while they dry.
- Sloping Base: Channels water toward the draining spout to help keep the drying area tidier.
- Integrated Plug: Can trap water for draining later when immediate sink runoff is not convenient.
- Moveable Draining Spout: Gives you more flexibility to direct water toward the sink based on your bench layout.
- Dishwasher-Safe Construction: Supports easy cleaning in the dishwasher for simpler ongoing maintenance.
Q: Will this dish rack suit a small bench beside the sink?
A: Yes. The expandable design makes it easier to keep the rack compact for everyday use, then open it out when you have more dishes. It is best on a bench where the draining spout can still direct water neatly toward the sink.
Q: Can the drainage spout be moved to face either side?
A: Yes. The draining spout is moveable, so you can direct runoff toward the sink to better match your bench layout. That flexibility helps in kitchens where the rack cannot sit in exactly the same position every day.
Q: Does the plug let you hold water before emptying it?
A: Yes. The integrated plug can trap water for draining later instead of sending it straight out through the spout. That is useful if the rack cannot sit right beside the sink, though you will need to empty the collected water yourself.
Q: Is the rack sturdy enough for heavy pots and pans?
A: It can hold cookware for drying, but this style of rack is better suited to everyday plates, bowls, cups and utensils than oversized or very heavy pots. If cookware is a big part of your washing up, expect less space and support than a larger rack.
Q: Can you wash the Joseph Joseph dish rack in the dishwasher?
A: Yes. The Joseph Joseph Extend dish rack is dishwasher safe, and the removable prongs and moveable cutlery drainer make it easier to take apart for a more thorough clean. That is handy if food residue or hard water marks build up over time.
Q: Are the prongs and cutlery drainer easy to remove?
A: Yes. The cutlery drainer is moveable, and the draining prongs are removable, so you can rearrange the layout for different loads or clean around them more easily. That flexibility is useful if you switch often between plates, bowls and cups.
