Out of date cartridges
Unfortunately the cartridges I bought for my HP printer were determined to be out of date by the printer and so didnt work at all. I ensured all packaging was off, heads were clean and the cartridges were clean but to no avail. I have yet to retur. Them to you but the packaging was destroyed by my children so if you are willing to swap them out great, otherwise I wont be buying office supplies there again.

At a glance
The HP 905XL Yellow Ink Cartridge is a genuine high-yield ink option for compatible HP OfficeJet printers, suited to homes and small offices that print colour documents regularly. Its main strengths are reliable printer recognition, solid page yield and fewer cartridge changes. One limitation is that it is only compatible with selected HP 905-series printers, so it will not suit mixed-brand or broader printer fleets.

Things to consider
This cartridge offers good value for regular colour printing, but it only fits selected HP 905-series printers and is less suitable for users needing broader printer compatibility or specialised photo-focused colour output.
Printer compatibility assessment
8/10 - Excellent fit for selected HP OfficeJet 6950, 6960 and 6970 models, but limited to the HP 905-series ecosystem.
Page yield value score
8/10 - Up to 825 pages gives strong value for regular colour document printing compared with standard-yield options.
Ease of replacement rating
9/10 - Genuine HP design and direct printer recognition make installation and replacement simple on compatible models.
Business vs home suitability
Best for home offices and small businesses with steady colour printing needs; also a practical choice for family and schoolwork use.

- Yellow Colour Output: Supports clear, vibrant yellow printing for charts, graphics and schoolwork.
- Compatible Printer Range: Designed for HP OfficeJet 6950, 6960 and 6970 All-in-One printers for a precise fit.
- Mix-and-Match Flexibility: Can be used alongside standard HP 905 cartridges in other colours to suit different replacement needs.
- Frequent Printing Support: High-yield format is well suited to busy home and office routines with regular colour document use.

Q: Is the HP 905XL Yellow the same as the standard HP 905 Yellow cartridge?
A: No. The HP 905XL Yellow uses the same 905 series fit as the standard yellow cartridge, but it is the high-yield version. That means more ink in the cartridge and a lower cost per page for regular colour printing.
Q: Which printers is the HP 905XL Yellow T6M13AA compatible with?
A: It is designed for HP printers that use the 905 or 905XL ink series, including selected OfficeJet and OfficeJet Pro models such as the 6950, 6960 and 6970 series. It does not replace HP 902, 906 or other non-905 cartridges.
Q: Is the HP 905XL Yellow T6M13AA a genuine HP cartridge?
A: Yes. The T6M13AA is an original HP yellow ink cartridge, not a remanufactured or third-party alternative. That matters if you want the correct 905 series fit and direct recognition in compatible HP printers.
Q: Can I use an HP 905XL Yellow with standard HP 905 cartridges in the other colours?
A: Yes. In most HP printers that take the 905 series, standard 905 and high-yield 905XL cartridges can be mixed across different colours. The important part is matching the correct series and colour slot, not using all XL cartridges.
Q: Is the HP 905XL Yellow a better choice for frequent colour printing?
A: Yes. Because this is the high-yield 905XL version, it is better suited to regular colour printing than the standard 905 yellow. It makes more sense for repeated documents with charts, graphics or schoolwork where yellow is used often.
