Things to consider
The water tank is smaller than full-size carpet cleaners, so it requires more frequent refilling during large cleaning tasks.
Pet stain removal score
8/10 - Excels at removing fresh pet stains and odours, but may require repeat passes for older, set-in stains.
Large area suitability
6/10 - Best suited for spot cleaning and small areas; less efficient for whole-room carpet cleaning due to tank size.
Ease of use
Simple controls and lightweight build make it easy for anyone to operate and store.
Drying time rating
7/10 - Surfaces typically dry within a few hours, depending on carpet thickness and ventilation.
Key benefits

- WidePath Tool: Cleans larger areas like stairs efficiently, reducing cleaning time.
- Tight Spot Tool: Reaches into crevices and hard-to-access areas for thorough cleaning.
- Portable Design: Lightweight and easy to carry, making it convenient for quick cleanups.
- Accessory Bag: Keeps all cleaning tools organised and accessible.

Q: Is the Hoover CleanSlate better for whole rooms or quick spill clean-ups?
A: It is built for spot cleaning rather than full-room carpet washing. The portable body, strong suction and included tools suit spills, stains, stairs and upholstery, while a full-size carpet washer is the better fit for cleaning an entire room.
Q: Is the Hoover CleanSlate FACSC21S0K cordless?
A: No. This CleanSlate model is a corded spot cleaner, with Hoover noting a long power cord for easier reach around the home. That suits longer cleaning sessions without recharge breaks, but it is less flexible than the ONEPWR cordless CleanSlate versions.
Q: What tools come with the Hoover CleanSlate and what are they best for?
A: It includes a Tight Spot Tool, Wide Path Tool and 2-in-1 Tool, plus a trial cleaning solution. The Tight Spot Tool is better for crevices and edges, while the Wide Path Tool covers broader patches such as stairs more efficiently.
Q: Are replacement parts available for the Hoover CleanSlate FACSC21S0K?
A: Yes. Hoover lists replacement Wide Path and Tight Spot tools for model FACSC21S0K, along with a solution tank and tank cap. That is useful if a tool is misplaced or you want to replace wear items rather than the whole cleaner.
Q: Can the Hoover CleanSlate be used on upholstery as well as carpet?
A: Yes. Hoover describes the CleanSlate as suitable for carpets and upholstery, and the included tools help target both broader fabric areas and tighter seams. It is intended for isolated stains and messes, not for full deep cleaning across large upholstered pieces.
