At a glance
The Honor Magic V6 512GB Black is a premium unlocked foldable phone for users who want tablet-like multitasking without carrying a second device. It suits professionals, frequent travellers and tech enthusiasts who value portability, storage and a large internal display. Key strengths are flexibility and everyday versatility, while the honest limitation is that foldables are usually pricier and more delicate-feeling than standard phones.

Things to consider
Compared with conventional premium smartphones, a foldable design usually comes with a higher purchase price and may feel less simple for buyers who just want a standard one-screen phone.
Global travel suitability
High - unlocked design is convenient for travel and local SIM use; check carrier band compatibility before international trips.
Student vs business fit
Best suited to business professionals and power users, though it also fits students who want a premium foldable for multitasking and media.
Camera performance score
8/10 - strong for everyday photos, social content and travel shots, though specialist camera phones may offer more advanced zoom or imaging flexibility.
Battery endurance rating
8/10 - well suited to all-day mixed use for a premium foldable, but heavier large-screen use can drain faster than on some conventional phones.
Key benefits
- Foldable Design: Opens up more screen space for reading, split-screen apps and immersive viewing while still folding down for easier pocket carry.
- Unlocked Phone: Gives you the freedom to choose your preferred Australian carrier or switch providers without being tied to one network.
- 512GB Storage: Provides generous room for photos, videos, apps, downloads and work files without relying as heavily on cloud storage.
- Large Inner Display Experience: Makes document viewing, web browsing and video playback more comfortable than on a typical non-folding phone.
- Compact Folded Form: Helps balance big-screen usability with day-to-day portability when commuting or travelling.
- Premium Flagship Positioning: Suits buyers who want advanced design, strong everyday capability and a more distinctive phone experience.
- Black Finish: Offers a clean, understated look that fits well in professional and everyday settings.
- All-in-One Device Style: Can reduce the need to carry both a phone and a small tablet for messaging, content viewing and light productivity.
Q: Does the Honor Magic V6 come with a wall charger in the box?
A: No. The box includes a USB Type-C cable, quick start guide and PU case, but a wall charger is not listed. To use the phone's fast charging feature, a compatible USB-C charger needs to be purchased separately.
Q: What do the IP68 and IP69 ratings mean on the Honor Magic V6?
A: They mean the Magic V6 is built to resist dust and water better than many phones. It can handle splashes and brief exposure to water, but the ratings do not make it waterproof for swimming, salt water or high-pressure cleaning.
Q: Is the 6660mAh battery large enough for a full day on a foldable phone?
A: Yes. A 6660mAh battery is large for a foldable, so it should suit a full day of calls, messaging, streaming and 5G use for many users. Heavy gaming, long camera sessions and the larger unfolded screen will drain it faster than lighter mixed use.
Q: Does the Honor Magic V6 have a front camera for both folded and unfolded use?
A: Yes. It has dual 20MP front cameras, so you can take selfies or join video calls whether the phone is folded or opened out. That is handy if you want a normal phone-style view outside and a larger screen layout inside.
Q: Is the Honor Magic V6 easy to carry every day?
A: Yes. At 224g and 156.7mm high, the Magic V6 is relatively light for a book-style foldable and should fit most pockets or small bags. It is still thicker when folded than a regular non-folding phone, which is the trade-off for the larger inner display.
Q: Will the Honor Magic V6 work on 5G mobile networks in Australia?
A: Yes. The Magic V6 supports 5G mobile connectivity for faster data where your carrier and plan allow it. Actual speeds depend on network coverage, congestion and indoor signal strength, so performance will vary by location.
