Be prepared for a hefty electrician's bill, I had to have a Level 2 sparky & another sparky to do installion. Work included upgrade of fuse at junction where overhead power lines connect to house, meter box upgrade plus run 10mm cable from meter box to cooker. All of this was to ensure the fuse didn't blow while using several different electrical things at the same time, i. e. All of cooktop, oven, ducted air, etc. I wouldn't like my chances of getting a Level 2 out on Christmas Day to replace the overhead power line junction fuse. I have had this cooker for a few months but couldn't a level 2 to do the work until a couple of weeks ago. I'm still navigating all of the functions & this is the first induction cooktop I've had but I think as I do more I will come to love it. In the meantime it is good looking even though it is a big heavy beast. Apparently you should check with your doctor if you have a pacemaker before purchasing an induction cooker. I read that somewhere, possibly in one of F&P manuals. The one thing I really don't like, is the hot air that blows for ages from above the oven door after switching off. Fine in the winter but not in the summer. Other than that I would say, do your homework/research before making a decision to buy & you should be happy. My electrical work cost around $4,000 not the $1,300 I was told to expect then add in induction cookware if you're a newby to induction cooking like me. Aesthetically it is a winner for the style of my home. I'm not prepared to recommend at this stage.

I love the easy to use functionality of the oven. The size of the oven is great, I can fit quite a few dishes in there at once. Easy to clean and has the added bonus of storage drawer underneath.

Overall a great product. Makes cooking a breeze. Only down side, due to large power requirements we needed to have a new circuit put in at an additional cast of $1300 so be prepared for the extra expense.

This 90cm Fisher & Paykel freestanding induction cooker is a premium option for families and keen home cooks who want a spacious oven and flexible cooktop in one appliance. Its strengths are the large convection oven, five induction zones with SmartZone pairing and useful cooking modes for everyday meals and baking. The main limitation is that it lacks specialist extras like steam cooking or pyrolytic self-cleaning found on some higher-end alternatives.
It offers strong everyday cooking flexibility, but buyers wanting specialist functions may prefer a model with steam assistance or pyrolytic self-cleaning.
9/10 - Large oven capacity and five induction zones make it well suited to bigger households and regular meal prep.
8.5/10 - Convection cooking, pastry bake with pizza mode and rapid proof support strong everyday baking versatility.
7/10 - The induction surface should be straightforward to wipe down, but there is no stated pyrolytic self-cleaning function.
Excellent for entertaining thanks to the spacious oven, multi-zone cooktop and flexibility for preparing several dishes at once.
Best suited to kitchens designed for a 90cm freestanding cooker with the required electrical setup for induction cooking.
A: Yes. The OR90SCI4B1 uses induction cooking, so it needs cookware with a magnetic base for a zone to activate properly. Its pan detection system helps, but non-compatible aluminium, copper or glass cookware will not heat.
A: No. Fisher & Paykel OR90SCI4B1 is not listed with pyrolytic self-cleaning, so oven cleaning is still a manual job. The induction surface should be simpler to wipe down than a raised-element hob because spills sit on a flat top.
A: Yes. Fisher & Paykel OR90SCI4B1 has a 121-litre usable oven, which gives you room for large roasts or multiple dishes at once. That size suits family cooking well, but it does not add steam cooking for moisture-sensitive recipes.
A: Yes. The two SmartZones let you pair compatible zones to suit larger cookware such as a griddle plate or long pan. They add flexibility for oversized pieces, but the pan still needs an induction-compatible base.
A: The 42-degree and 65-degree settings are for gentle heat tasks such as melting, warming and delicate cooking. They are useful when full power is too aggressive, but they are not a substitute for the oven's main cooking functions.
A: Yes. The cooktop has hot surface indicators to show when an area is still hot after cooking, and pan detection helps avoid heating an empty zone. Those features improve day-to-day control, but the glass can remain hot from residual heat.
