Well made
This Cygnet phone charger has been made really well. I love the extra length of the cord so I can use it while charging, wherever I am. I also like the warranty given for this item. The price is readonable as well. Overall, a nice product.

At a glance
This 2 m USB-A to Lightning cable is a sturdy everyday option for iPhone and other Apple devices with a Lightning port. It suits people who want extra reach and a tougher cable for regular travel, bedside charging or desk use. Key strengths are its reinforced braided build, strain relief and long warranty. The main limitation is that its 12 W rating is better for standard charging than newer high-speed charging needs.

Things to consider
This cable uses USB-A and is rated at 12 W, so it is less suitable than newer USB-C fast-charging cables for users wanting the quickest possible charging speeds.
Fast charging suitability
Limited - suitable for standard charging up to 12 W, not ideal for newer high-speed charging setups
Multi-device compatibility
Works with Apple devices featuring a Lightning port and USB-A chargers, power banks and computers
Travel suitability
8/10 - durable build and broad USB-A compatibility make it a strong travel cable, though the 2 m length can be bulkier to pack
Durability vs category average
9/10 - reinforced braided construction, Kevlar aramid fibre and strain relief make it tougher than many standard charging cables
Ease of use score
9/10 - simple plug-and-play cable with a long 2 m reach and common USB-A connection for everyday convenience
Key benefits
- 2 m Cable Length: Gives extra reach from desks, bedside tables and car chargers so your device is easier to use while connected.
- Double Braided Nylon Exterior: Helps the cable handle frequent packing, bending and daily handling better than basic plastic-coated cables.
- Kevlar Aramid Fibre Reinforcement: Adds internal strength to support long-term durability in everyday use.
- Lightning to USB-A Connection: Works with compatible Apple devices and older USB-A wall chargers, power banks and computers.
- 12 W Power Rating: Supports standard charging for everyday top-ups and routine use.
- USB 2.0 Data Sync: Lets you transfer files, back up devices and run software updates through a wired connection.
- Added Strain Relief: Helps reduce fraying and wear at common stress points near the connectors.
- 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty: Provides longer-term peace of mind compared with many standard cables.
Q: Can this cable fast charge newer iPhones and iPads
A: No. Cygnett CY4660PCCAL is rated at 12W, so it supports standard charging rather than higher-speed fast charging. It suits everyday top-ups from older USB-A power sources, but not the fastest charge modes on newer devices.
Q: Will it work with iPhone 15 or newer models
A: No. This cable uses a Lightning connector, so it is for Apple devices with a Lightning port. Newer USB-C iPhones will not plug into it directly, which makes this a better match for older Apple devices and accessories.
Q: Does this cable plug into USB-C wall chargers
A: No. Cygnett CY4660PCCAL has USB-A on one end and Lightning on the other. It connects directly to older USB-A chargers, power banks and computers, but it does not plug straight into a USB-C charger without an adapter.
Q: Can I back up photos and update software
A: Yes. This cable supports charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, so it can handle tasks like file backups and software updates when connected to a compatible USB-A computer. It is not limited to charging only.
Q: Is the 2m cable practical for desk or bedside charging
A: Yes. The 2 metre length gives extra reach from a desk, bedside table or car charger, so the device is easier to use while plugged in. The trade-off is more slack to manage if the charging area is tight or cluttered.
Q: Will the braided design help stop fraying near plugs
A: Yes. This cable uses double braided nylon, Kevlar aramid fibre and added strain relief at the stress points near each connector. That build is aimed at frequent bending and packing, though it is still a standard 12W cable rather than a speed upgrade.
