Macbooks are a line of Laptop computers made by Apple. As with other Apple products, a MacBook is completely designed by Apple both in terms of its hardware and the operating system. This is not necessarily the case with other computers, which are often constructed by one company and run an operating system by another.

The advantage of Apple’s design philosophy is that both the hardware and the operating system are designed specifically with the other in mind, ensuring efficiency and ease of use. The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are two different lines, each with their own models and technical specifications. In general, the Macbook Air range are designed to be lightweight, thin and portable whereas the Macbook Pro range prioritises power and performance without sacrificing too much portability.

When it comes to the feel and build quality of the Keyboard or trackpad, both the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro are similarly comfortable and tactile.

Historically, Apple’s operating system and computer hardware has often been compared to Microsoft’s Windows operating systems. Each has different advantages that will appeal to different individual users.

Before deciding on a new Laptop or Computer, it's worth thinking about what devices you already own. macOS is designed to make compatibility with other Apple products as quick and easy as possible. If you already own an iPhone or iPad, you may find the perks of the Apple ecosystem a plus.

It's also worth thinking about what you want to be able to do on your laptop and what specific software needs to be run. Macs are popular amongst music producers, graphic designers and videographers due to the software available. If you are interested in Gaming, far more video games are compatible with Windows than with macOS.

In terms of popularity, Windows 11 can be found on a higher number of computers from entry level laptops to high performance Gaming PCs.
