At a glance
The Bowers and Wilkins PI8 are premium true wireless earbuds for listeners who want strong sound quality, effective noise cancelling and a compact everyday carry option. They suit commuting, travel and daily music listening well, with IP54 splash resistance and fast charging adding convenience. A key limitation is that 6.5 hours per charge is solid, but not class-leading versus some longer-lasting alternatives.

Key benefits
- Active Noise Cancelling: Helps reduce everyday background noise so listening feels more immersive during commutes, flights and office use.
- 6.5-Hour Battery Life: Delivers up to 6.5 hours of playback on a single charge for regular daily listening without constant top-ups.
- Fast Charging: Gives you a quicker return to listening when the earbuds are low on power.
- IP54 Water Resistance: Adds practical protection against sweat and splashes for commuting and workouts.
- Multiple Ear Tip Sizes: Helps achieve a more secure, comfortable seal for better everyday fit.
- Touch Controls: Lets you manage playback and calls directly from the earbuds without reaching for your phone.
- Bluetooth Compatibility: Pairs with both iPhone and Android devices for flexible everyday use.
- High-Quality Wireless Audio Support: Supports premium wireless listening formats for users who want better audio quality over Bluetooth.
Q: Are these earbuds suitable for workouts and outdoor commuting?
A: Yes. PI8 earbuds have an IP54 rating, so they handle sweat and splashes during commuting or light workouts. They are better suited to walking, travel and gym sessions than swimming or use where the earbuds could be submerged.
Q: Does the PI8 work well with both iPhone and Android phones?
A: Yes. PI8 pairs over Bluetooth with both iPhone and Android phones for everyday listening and calls. Some higher-quality wireless audio modes depend on device support, so broad pairing does not mean every phone uses the same codec options.
Q: How long can the earbuds play before they need recharging?
A: Bowers and Wilkins PI8 plays audio for up to 6.5 hours on a single charge. That suits commuting and most daily listening, but longer travel days may still need a top-up from the charging case between sessions.
Q: Why might PI8 sound better than basic true wireless earbuds?
A: PI8 uses a 24-bit wireless connection, aptX Lossless support and 12mm Carbon Cone drive units aimed at lower distortion. The benefit depends on your source device and audio quality, so casual streaming may not show the full advantage.
Q: What ear tip options come with the Bowers and Wilkins PI8?
A: PI8 includes four interchangeable ear tips to help you get a secure seal. Getting the right tip matters for bass, noise cancelling and stability, so buyers who often struggle with in-ear fit have more scope to adjust than with a single-tip setup.
Q: Can the touch controls handle music and calls without using your phone?
A: Yes. PI8 uses touch controls on the earbuds, so basic playback and call handling can be done without reaching for your phone. Exact gestures vary by function, so buyers who prefer physical buttons may still need a short learning period.
