Delays in delivery
Product when received is as described and in good condition. What's disappointing has been the delay in delivery for in stock online purchases, and with this purchase I had to contact the local retailer to prompt delivery after no response for over a week. Local retailer was very helpful, and the product arrived 2 days later. There appears to be an issue between online orders and dispatch.

One of the Best
This is one of, if not the best walkie talkie on the market. 5 watts for under $140 is reasonably priced. The build quality is superb and the features are all there. The feel is really good too, rough body and tactile knobs and buttons, means its ergonomic and difficult to drop. Great rang in open spaces and even in the city you can expect at least 500m of range.

At a glance
This 5 watt UHF handheld radio is a solid choice for hikers, outdoor users and work crews who need dependable short-to-medium range communication in wet conditions. It stands out with splashproof protection, bright easy-to-spot colouring, long battery life and simple hands-free VOX use. The main limitation is that it is splashproof rather than fully waterproof, so it is less suited to heavy water exposure than premium waterproof models.

Things to consider
It offers strong everyday outdoor performance, but users needing maximum water protection or more advanced specialist features may prefer a fully waterproof premium handheld.
Outdoor adventure suitability
Well suited to hiking, camping and general outdoor use thanks to its splashproof build, long battery life and high-visibility colour.
Family use friendliness
Easy to use for casual group trips, with tactile controls, clear display and a bright finish that is easy to find.
Range vs category
8/10 - strong reach for a handheld UHF radio, especially with 5 watt output and up to 17 km typical line-of-sight performance.
Battery endurance score
9/10 - up to 35 hours of operating time is excellent for a handheld model used across long days outdoors or on site.
Key benefits
- 5W/1W Selectable Transmit Power: switch between longer reach and lower power use depending on where and how you are communicating.
- Up to 17 km Typical Line-of-Sight Range: supports communication over longer open-area distances when terrain and conditions allow.
- Splashproof Design: better suited to rain, wet weather and waterside use than a standard non-protected handheld radio.
- Bright Yellow Housing: easier to spot quickly if dropped on the ground or in low-visibility outdoor settings.
- Up to 35 Hours Operating Time: delivers extended use between charges for day trips, shifts or weekend outings.
- 80 UHF Channels: gives access to a full channel set for everyday CB communication across different users and environments.
- Backlit LCD Dot Matrix Display: helps keep channel and radio information visible in dim light or early morning conditions.
- VOX Hands-Free Capability: allows voice-activated operation for easier use when your hands are busy with gear or work.
Q: Can this handheld talk to other 80-channel UHF CB radios?
A: Yes. The UH755-Y is built for standard 80-channel UHF CB communication, so it can talk with other compatible UHF CB radios on the same channel. Compatibility does not mean extra radios are included, because this model is sold as a single unit.
Q: Is splashproof enough for heavy rain, boating or full submersion?
A: It suits wet weather and use around water, but splashproof is not the same as waterproof. The UH755-Y is a better fit for rain, spray and damp conditions than for dropping overboard or being submerged.
Q: What does switching between 5W and 1W actually change?
A: The power setting changes the trade-off between range potential and battery life. The UH755-Y uses 5W when stronger signal reach matters more, while 1W is the better choice when nearby users need longer operating time.
Q: How far will it usually work in bushland or built-up areas?
A: UH755-Y can transmit up to 17km in typical line-of-sight conditions, which suits open areas best. Trees, hills, buildings and dense urban streets reduce range, so real-world distance is shorter when the path between radios is obstructed.
Q: Is the UH755-Y a twin pack or a single radio?
A: The UH755-Y is a single handheld radio, not a twin pack. To talk between users, each person needs a compatible UHF CB radio, so this model is best when you are adding one extra handset rather than buying for a pair from scratch.
