Great sound and very stylish. These were to upgrade from my old wonder boom which has lasted almost 10 years. Very happy with the new designs and price was very competitive.

Compact cute and all the sound I need
The Ultimate Wonderboom 4 is light to carry, has a handy loop to hang it wherever, and the sound volume and quality seems just as good as my old MegaBoom at half the weight and size.

At a glance
The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 - Lilac is a small, durable Bluetooth speaker built for travel, poolside use and casual everyday listening. It suits people who want simple wireless audio, long battery life and strong water resistance in a lightweight design. Its key strengths are portability, 14-hour playback and flexible outdoor use. One limitation is that it lacks the fuller, louder sound of larger premium speakers.

Things to consider

Portability rating
9/10 - compact, lightweight and easy to carry for travel and outdoor use
Outdoor suitability
High - IP67 protection and Outdoor Boost mode make it well suited to beach, poolside and backyard listening
Battery endurance rating
8/10 - up to 14 hours is strong for a compact portable speaker

Key benefits
- 14-Hour Battery Life: Delivers up to 14 hours of playback, making it practical for day trips, outdoor gatherings and all-day casual listening.
- 40 m Bluetooth Range: Lets you keep your phone or tablet further away while maintaining wireless playback around the home or outdoors.
- IP67 Protection: Dust-tight and able to handle temporary water immersion, so it is well suited to beach, poolside and shower use.
- Compact Lightweight Design: Easy to pack into a travel bag or move around the house without taking up much space.
- Outdoor Boost Mode: Adjusts the sound profile to help music carry better in open-air spaces.
- Podcast Mode: Improves vocal clarity for spoken-word content such as podcasts, audiobooks and talkback radio.
- Stereo and Double-Up Pairing: Pair two Wonderboom 4 speakers for louder playback or true wireless stereo sound.
- USB-C Charging: Uses a common modern charging connection that is easier to share with other devices and accessories.
Q: Is it loud enough for a picnic or small room?
A: Wonderboom 4 reaches 86 dBC in normal mode and 87 dBC in Outdoor Boost mode. That is enough for casual listening in a small room or outdoor group, but it is not built for deep bass or large party coverage.
Q: Can I pair two Wonderboom 4 speakers in stereo?
A: Yes. Wonderboom 4 can pair with a second Wonderboom 4 for louder playback or true wireless stereo. It is useful if one speaker is not enough on its own, but the pairing feature is listed for the same model family.
Q: Will this speaker handle beach, pool and shower use?
A: Wonderboom 4 has an IP67 rating, so it is dust tight and can handle temporary water immersion. That suits poolside, beach and shower use, but IP67 is not the same as permanent underwater use or protection from salt and sand build-up.
Q: Does the Wonderboom 4 have a wired audio input?
A: No. This model connects by Bluetooth only. It suits phones, tablets and other Bluetooth audio sources, but it is not the right pick if you want a wired audio input or a speaker that doubles as a USB playback device.
Q: How far can Bluetooth reach from my phone outdoors?
A: Bluetooth range is rated to 40 metres in open space. Indoors, walls, furniture and other wireless devices can reduce that distance, so the longest range is more realistic outdoors or with a clearer line of sight.
Q: What is included in the box with this speaker?
A: The box includes the Wonderboom 4 speaker, an attached bungee, a USB-C cable and a printed Quick Start Guide. A charging adaptor is not listed, so charging is set up around the included cable rather than a bundled wall plug.
