    Good quality router

Would expect more range from this router, but it is good enough. It has lots of great features and good enough for a small family to use, with lots of devices connected including security cameras, tablets, laptops, phone etc.

Awesome router, paired with fast nbn

The router was easy to setup and walks you through all the new features that come with WiFi 7. Had it setup in under 10 minutes, then had to wait an extra 4 min as it did a system update. All in all super convenient and super fast. Can definitely feel the difference coming from WiFi 6.

Q: Does the BE9300 speed rating mean one device can get 9.3Gbps?

A: No. BE9300 is a combined theoretical rating across the router's three Wi-Fi bands, not a single-device speed. Real speed to one phone, laptop or console depends on that device's Wi-Fi standard, channel width, distance and internet plan.

Q: Is the TP-LINK BE9300 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router still a good fit if most devices at home are Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 5?

A: Yes. It is backwards compatible with older Wi-Fi devices, so Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 gear can still connect normally. The biggest Wi-Fi 7 gains, such as newer high-throughput features, are only available with compatible Wi-Fi 7 client devices.

Q: Can this router make sense for a multi-gig internet service, or is it mainly for standard NBN speeds?

A: It suits both. This model sits in TP-LINK's Wi-Fi 7 range aimed at faster home networking, so it makes more sense than an entry router if you have a high-speed fibre service, a NAS, or heavy local file transfers between devices.

Q: What kind of home coverage should I realistically expect from this tri-band router?

A: A single tri-band router like this typically suits a medium to large home, but layout matters more than the headline speed. Double brick walls, concrete floors and long hallways can reduce range, so larger or multi-storey homes may still benefit from a mesh setup.

Q: Can the TP-LINK BE9300 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router replace an existing modem-router?

A: It can replace the routing part, but not every internet connection's modem function. If NBN or fibre equipment at home already provides the modem or network termination, this router can connect to that, while some FTTN services may still need a separate modem.

Q: How does this model compare with a higher-end TP-LINK Wi-Fi 7 router such as the BE900?

A: The main difference is tier. A BE900 class router is built for more extreme throughput and premium networking hardware, while the BE9300 class is the more practical step into Wi-Fi 7 for most homes, especially if there are only a few very fast client devices.
