DOES NOT WORK - ZERO STARS!

Followed instructions which were poor to start with. Installed modem adaptor into modem via etherney cable as per instructions on the same powerline circuit and remote adaptor into power pont in same room on same circuit. Followed instructions to pair the units but could not get a successful internet connection to provide WiFi to any devices. My various device picked up the Tplink but then once connected zero wifi signal was being transmitted. SO AFTER ALL THAT TIME WASTED SETTING THIS UNIT UP IT FAILED AND DOESN'T WORK? I'd like my money back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

Q: Does this TP-LINK AV1300 kit need to be paired before it works?

A: Yes. Powerline kits like this need the adapters paired on the same electrical circuit before data can pass through your home's wiring. Initial setup is usually simple, but performance depends on the quality and layout of the wiring in the home.

Q: How well does the Wi-Fi extender part work compared with a standard Wi-Fi extender?

A: It can work better in homes where a normal extender struggles, because the backhaul runs through powerlines instead of relying only on a weak wireless link. It still depends on your home's wiring, so speed and stability can vary room to room.

Q: What does the passthrough power socket do on this kit?

A: The passthrough socket lets the adapter use the wall outlet without taking that outlet away from another device. It is handy in busy rooms, and it also helps avoid using a double adapter or power board for the powerline unit itself.

Q: Is this powerline Wi-Fi kit a good option for dead spots in rooms far from the modem?

A: Yes, it is designed for that kind of problem. One unit connects near the modem and the second creates Wi-Fi where coverage is weak, but results are best when both adapters are plugged directly into wall sockets rather than extension boards.

Q: Can this TP-LINK AV1300 kit replace a full mesh Wi-Fi system?

A: No, not in every home. This kit is useful when the main issue is getting network access to one distant area, while a mesh system is usually better for seamless Wi-Fi across many rooms because it is built for broader whole-home roaming.
