    15/10!!!

This product has been the best kitchen investment. It looks amazing but the functionality is unbeatable. The controls are amazing, the response time is brilliant, it is SOOOOO easy to clean after using gas hobs for the past few decades! could not recommend a product more.

At a glance

This 90cm Technika induction cooktop is a strong fit for busy households that want space for multiple pans and the flexibility to use larger cookware on a combined Flex Zone. It offers responsive touch controls, nine power levels, Boost heating and useful safety features. A fair limitation is that it focuses on practical performance rather than the more advanced automation and premium finish options found on higher-end models.

Things to consider

It delivers flexible zone cooking and strong everyday control, but it does not highlight the extra smart cooking presets, assisted functions or more premium design refinements some higher-end induction cooktops offer.

Family cooking suitability

Excellent for family cooking thanks to the 90cm width, five-zone layout and Flex Zone support for larger cookware

Energy efficiency score

8/10 - induction heating is typically responsive and targeted, and the Boost mode supports fast heating when needed

Cookware compatibility assessment

Best with induction-compatible cookware; Flex Zone is especially useful for larger pans and griddles

Safety rating

9/10 - includes hot surface indicators, automatic safety switch off and a child safety lock

Ease of cleaning

9/10 - smooth black ceramic glass surface is straightforward to wipe clean after everyday cooking

Key benefits

  • 5 zones: Lets you heat up to five pans at once, making it easier to prepare full meals with multiple pots and pans.
  • Flex zone: Combines adjacent zones into one larger cooking area for griddle plates, fish pans or other oversized cookware.
  • Touch controls: Provides simple, direct heat adjustment with a clean surface that is easy to operate and wipe down.
  • 9 power levels: Gives you a broad range of heat settings for simmering, boiling and everyday cooking control.
  • Boost function: Delivers rapid heat when you need to bring water to the boil or quickly raise pan temperature.
  • Ilva ceramic glass surface: Offers a sleek black finish that is easy to clean and suits modern kitchen styling.
  • Hot surface indicators: Helps you see when zones are still hot after cooking for added day-to-day safety awareness.
  • Child safety lock: Reduces the chance of accidental operation, which is helpful in busy family kitchens.

Q: Do I need special pots for this Technika induction cooktop?

A: Yes. Technika TCI9051FTE needs induction-compatible cookware with a magnetic base, so some older aluminium, copper or glass pans may not work. If a magnet does not stick firmly to the base, the zone may not heat properly.

Q: Can the Flex Zone fit a griddle plate or fish pan?

A: Yes. The Flex Zone joins adjacent cooking areas into one larger space, which is better suited to long or oversized cookware such as a griddle plate or fish pan. It is most useful when a single pan would otherwise sit across two separate zones.

Q: How practical is this cooktop for cooking multiple dishes together?

A: Technika TCI9051FTE has a 90cm surface with 5 cooking zones, so it suits meals that need several pans on the go at once. That extra width helps with larger cookware too, though pan placement still matters if you are using very wide pieces.

Q: What does Power Shift do on the Technika TCI9051FTE?

A: Power Shift is designed to make heat changes feel quicker and more responsive when cooking needs change across zones. In day-to-day use, that helps when moving from fast heating to lower heat control, rather than leaving one setting unchanged.

Q: Are the touch controls precise enough for simmering and searing?

A: Yes. This cooktop uses touch controls with 9 power levels, so there is room to step heat up or down rather than relying on one high setting. It also includes a Boost function for rapid heating when a pan needs strong heat at the start.

Q: Which safety features does this Technika induction cooktop include?

A: Technika TCI9051FTE includes hot surface indicators, automatic safety switch off and a child safety lock. Those features help reduce accidental operation and make it clearer when the glass is still hot after cooking, but they do not replace normal supervision.
