This compact little machine truly excels at its dual purpose, delivering freshly ground ingredients with impressive speed and efficiency. For coffee, it makes quick work of whole beans, giving me that rich aroma and superior taste that you just can't get from pre-ground coffee. Whether I'm making a plunger, filter, or even a quick espresso shot, the Sunbeam grinder provides a consistent grind (though it's a 'one-touch' blade grinder, so you control the fineness by how long you hold the button). The transparent lid is a great feature, allowing me to easily monitor the grind to get it just right. Where it really shines for me, however, is with spices. Grinding whole spices like cumin, coriander, or even tough star anise just before use elevates any dish to another level. The powerful stainless steel blades make light work of even the hardest spices, releasing their full aromatic potential. It's fantastic for making homemade spice blends. Cleaning is straightforward for the most part. The removable lid and bowl can be washed in warm soapy water, and for the main unit, a quick wipe with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. A handy tip I've picked up (and one that's often recommended for these types of grinders) is to occasionally grind a small amount of uncooked rice to absorb any lingering oils and clean out residue. My only minor reservation, as with some other users, is the plastic lid. While functional, it does require a bit of care when handling and securing it, as the small lugs that engage the motor can feel a little delicate. However, with gentle use, it performs perfectly. Overall, if you're looking for an affordable, effective, and versatile grinder to elevate your coffee and cooking game, the Sunbeam Coffee and Spice Grinder is a solid choice. It's a fantastic little workhorse that delivers on its promise of fresh, flavourful ingredients.
