My best Sonos upgrade yet
I've been a Sonos user for years, starting with a basic Beam setup, and I honestly thought my sound was 'good enough.' Adding the Sonos Sub (Gen 4) completely shattered that perception. I can confidently say this is the single most impactful audio upgrade I've ever made. My biggest fear was that adding a sub would make the sound muddy or boomy, especially in my living room which has an open floor plan. I was immediately proven wrong. The Sub (Gen 4) is surgical in its precision. It’s not about volume; it’s about clarity and depth. Where my old system used to just hint at the low end, the Sub now gives it a rich, textural foundation. I put it to the test immediately with the opening scene of Dune and then a few of my favorite electronic music tracks. The difference was night and day. Explosions in the movie went from a pop to a deep, subterranean rumble that you don't just hear, you feel in your chest. Music feels fuller and more 'live'—the Sub handles those deep bass lines with a tight, powerful snap that never drowns out the vocals or mids from my Arc. It's truly a musical subwoofer. Installation was literally seconds. I plugged it in, tapped 'Add Sub' in the Sonos app, and ran Trueplay. Done. The design is sleek enough that it tucks away perfectly, yet it delivers a presence that is absolutely massive. If you're on the fence, jump off. This is a mandatory investment for anyone who wants a truly immersive, high-fidelity experience from their Sonos ecosystem. The Sub (Gen 4) doesn't just improve your audio; it redefines what your system is capable of. I wish I hadn't waited this long!
