Value for money portable aircon
Really pleased with this Solt portable air conditioner. It cools the room well and works great for smaller spaces like a bedroom or study. It’s easy to move around and set up, and the timer and dehumidifying features are a nice bonus. Overall, it’s a reliable unit that does exactly what I need and offers great value for staying cool.

Doesn’t cover as big an area as I thought is would.
Great unit but rather heavy. Also the area it covers can be misleading. Definitely wouldn’t used in an area any bigger then 20m2 as anything bigger and it struggles. So false advertising by the manufacturer saying it can do up to 35m2.

Awesome aircon.
Awesome aircon, my partner purchased this for our home office, easy to set up, our biggest complaint is that the plastic hose for the drain could be a little longer. Definitely do recommend purchasing one of these if looking to cool down a room!

Great Portable Airconditioner
We have a strange Z shape living room to our little unit with the two rooms coming in at 5.1 x 3.7m and 3.1x2.7m and this Solt portable airconditioner manages to cool it right down! A little loud but once you get use to it, no worries!

At a glance
The Solt Portable Air Conditioner is a practical cooling option for bedrooms, studies and small offices up to 35 m2. It offers 2.6 kW cooling, three fan speeds, dehumidifying mode, a 24-hour timer and easy room-to-room mobility on wheels. Fresh Mode with ioniser adds extra versatility. The main limitation is that, as a non-inverter portable unit, it is a simpler and less refined option than premium split systems.

Room size suitability
Up to 35 m2
Portability rating
8/10 - compact portable design with omni directional wheels makes room-to-room movement straightforward.
Noise level vs category average
5/10 - no low-noise claim or decibel rating is provided, so it is best treated as typical for a portable air conditioner.
Energy efficiency score
5/10 - 2.6 kW cooling suits smaller rooms, but the non-inverter design suggests a more basic efficiency profile than higher-end inverter models.
Ease of installation
9/10 - portable format and included remote keep setup simple compared with fixed air conditioning options.
Key benefits
- 2.6 kW COOLING CAPACITY: Delivers solid cooling performance for bedrooms, studies and other compact rooms up to 35 m2.
- Omni directional wheels: Makes it easier to move the unit between rooms when you only need cooling in one area at a time.
- Touch and remote controls: Lets you adjust settings quickly from the unit or across the room for everyday convenience.
- 24-hour timer: Helps you schedule cooling around your day or overnight routine without needing to manually switch the unit on or off.
- Dry/dehumidifying mode: Helps reduce excess moisture in humid weather to make smaller rooms feel more comfortable.
- Washable filter: Supports ongoing airflow performance while making routine maintenance simpler and more affordable.
- Fresh mode air ioniser: Adds an air-refreshing function that can help the room feel fresher while the unit operates.
- Water level sensor with auto power off: Adds convenience by helping protect the unit and reducing the need for constant monitoring.
Q: Is this portable air conditioner suitable for a large open-plan room
A: No. Solt GGSAPI2560W is designed for targeted cooling, with a stated room size of 35m2. It is better suited to closed bedrooms, studies or small offices than larger open spaces where cooled air can spread and performance drops.
Q: Does the Solt portable air conditioner also heat in winter
A: No. Solt GGSAPI2560W is a cooling-only portable air conditioner with Cool, Auto, Dry and Fresh modes. If you need reverse-cycle heating as well, this model is not designed to warm a room in colder weather.
Q: Will it still make noise in a bedroom at night
A: Yes. Solt GGSAPI2560W sits in the room with the fan and compressor, so some operating noise is normal while cooling. The three fan speeds and 24-hour timer help manage overnight use, but it is not a silent appliance.
Q: How does the dry mode work on this model
A: Dry mode removes moisture from the air while the unit operates, which can make a humid room feel less clammy. It is useful in muggy weather, but it is not the same as a dedicated dehumidifier for whole-home moisture control.
Q: What happens when the water tank fills during use
A: Solt GGSAPI2560W has a water level sensor and auto power off to stop operation when collected water reaches its limit. That adds protection against overflow, but the unit may still need attention sooner in more humid conditions.
Q: Can I move it between rooms during the day
A: Yes. Solt GGSAPI2560W has omni directional wheels and a compact portable design, so it is made to be moved between rooms as needed. It is most practical when each room is used as a separate, closed space rather than one large area.
