This little fridge is excellent and works great
The best feature is having a separate freezer door, there is plenty of room for drink bottles on the door and a deep vegetable tray at the bottom, over all a great little fridge.

Taller than advertised
Like the unit, however I specifically purchased it because the advertised height was 4mm below my countertop…… unfortunately the door hinge was NOT included in height so now I cannot push it completely under and the doors stick out. Please advertise the MAX height for items designed for under counter spaces!!!

Handy little fridge (more space than I antipated)
I purchased this fridge for my room and was surprised at how much space it has, especially in the freezer. It's also dead quiet most of the time - to the point I check if it's still on. Only exception is when it's doing it's freeze cycles (but even that I can sleep through). Highly recommend for a small bar/dorm fridge.

Great little fridge for the price — perfect as a second fridge or for small spaces.
I’ve been using the Solt 87 L bar fridge for a little while now, and overall I’m really happy with it. The size is perfect for my space — it fits neatly in my (office/room/garage) without taking up too much room. I love that it actually has a small freezer section — that’s super useful for ice and frozen snacks. It cools reliably and I haven’t had any issues with temp swings. The design is simple and straightforward, which is exactly what I wanted — no bells and whistles, just a fridge that works. The only downside is that it’s not frost-free, so I do need to defrost the freezer now and then. And it’s not the quietest fridge, but the noise isn’t annoying enough to bother me.

At a glance
The Solt 87L Bar Fridge is a compact fridge with a separate freezer compartment for drinks, snacks and everyday essentials in small kitchens, offices or entertainment areas. Its strengths are flexible storage, reversible door design and easy placement in tight spaces. A key limitation is the manual defrost freezer, which is less convenient than frost-free options on more premium models.

Things to consider
The separate freezer is manual defrost, so it needs more hands-on maintenance than frost-free bar fridges and premium compact refrigerators.
Entertaining suitability
Good for casual entertaining, with flexible shelves and multiple door trays for drinks, mixers and snacks.
Energy efficiency score
5/10 - 2 star energy rating indicates basic efficiency rather than standout running-cost performance
Compact space fit
9/10 - compact 87L design, recessed handle and reversible door make it well suited to tight spaces and under-bench style placement
Noise level vs category average
5/10 - no specific noise rating is provided, so it should be considered typical for a compact bar fridge
Beverage storage flexibility
8/10 - removable shelves and 5 door trays give useful flexibility for bottles, cans and mixed refreshments
Key benefits
- 87L Net Capacity: gives you practical compact storage for drinks, snacks, fresh food and a small amount of frozen items.
- Separate Freezer: keeps ice, frozen snacks and short-term frozen goods apart from fresh food for easier organisation.
- 2 Removable Glass Shelves: lets you adjust internal space to fit taller bottles, containers or mixed grocery items.
- 5 Door Storage Trays: creates extra room for bottles, cans and condiments without taking up shelf space.
- Crisper Drawer: provides a dedicated space to separate fruit and vegetables from drinks and packaged foods.
- Reversible Door: makes it easier to position the fridge in tight layouts or under benches with more flexible opening direction.
- Adjustable Thermostat: allows you to fine-tune cooling settings to suit changing contents and ambient conditions.
- 2 Star Energy Rating: delivers basic energy performance suitable for a value-focused compact fridge.
Q: Will this bar fridge fit under a standard benchtop?
A: Yes, it is designed for compact spaces and under-bench use. The recessed handle, reversible door and adjustable feet help with placement, but the cavity still needs enough clearance for the door to open and for airflow around the cabinet.
Q: Is the freezer good for long term frozen food storage?
A: No, the freezer compartment is better for ice, frozen snacks and short-term storage than bulk long-term freezing. It is a compact separate freezer inside a bar fridge, so capacity and temperature stability are more limited than a full-size freezer.
Q: How does manual defrost work on this Solt bar fridge?
A: Manual defrost means ice build-up in the freezer compartment needs to be cleared by hand rather than melting automatically. That suits buyers who want a simple compact fridge, but it does add occasional upkeep that frost-free models avoid.
Q: Can it store tall drink bottles without removing everything?
A: Yes, the layout is flexible enough for taller bottles because the glass shelves can be removed or rearranged. The five door trays also help separate drinks from food, though the compact cabinet still limits how many large bottles fit at once.
Q: Does the reversible door make placement easier in tight spaces?
A: Yes, the reversible door lets the fridge open from the side that best suits the room layout. That can make a real difference beside a wall, under a bench or in a corner where a fixed-hinge door could limit access.
Q: What does the 2 star energy rating mean here?
A: Solt GGSBF91DS has a 2 star energy rating. A higher-starred 87L fridge generally has lower running costs than a lower-starred one, so this model is better suited to compact convenience use than to buyers prioritising the lowest energy use.
Q: Would this fridge suit a bedroom or small office?
A: Yes, it suits those spaces if the main priority is compact food and drink storage with a separate freezer section. Like most compressor fridges, it can make some operating noise as it cycles, so it is not completely silent.
