Q: Will this dishwasher fit under a standard kitchen benchtop?
A: Yes, in most kitchens. Smeg DWAU6D15XT3 is a 60cm undercounter dishwasher built for an 86cm installation height, but its tall, deep design still needs a cavity check before ordering, especially in older cabinetry.
Q: Can the FlexiZone half load save water and energy on small loads?
A: Yes. FlexiZone Half Load adjusts water and energy use for smaller loads instead of running a full-load wash every time. It suits day-to-day dishes well, but it does not add capacity or replace careful loading for best cleaning.
Q: Does the auto door opening leave dishes drier at the end?
A: Yes. Dry Assist+ opens the door slightly at the end of the cycle so residual heat can finish drying cups, containers and plates. It can reduce leftover moisture, but plastics and concave items may still hold some water.
Q: How does the Planetary Wash System handle tightly packed plates and bowls?
A: The Planetary Wash System uses a single spray arm that moves on two axes, so water reaches more of the load than a fixed pattern. It is designed to improve coverage in crowded baskets, but tall items can still block spray if packed poorly.
Q: Is the FlexiDuo third basket useful for cutlery and awkward utensils?
A: Yes. The FlexiDuo third basket adds a separate level for cutlery, utensils and smaller items, and it adapts to the load for neater organisation. It also frees space below, though very tall pieces can still affect lower basket layout.
Q: Does this Smeg dishwasher have a delay start option?
A: Yes. Delay Start lets you schedule the wash to begin later, which suits overnight runs or quieter times in the kitchen. It changes the start time only, so the overall cycle length still depends on the program selected.
Q: Is the Crystal program suitable for delicate wine glasses?
A: Yes. The Crystal program is designed for delicate glassware, so it is the better choice when you want a gentler wash than a general cycle. It is still best to secure stems carefully and leave space between pieces where possible.
