Product Overview

The 1200W Inverter Microwave - Black S/Steel heats meals and snacks with 1200W of power and a spacious 34L capacity.

A 31.5cm turntable accommodates full-size dinner plates, making it suitable for family kitchens or shared households. Touch controls and an LED display simplify operation, while the Favourite key allows you to store up to three regular settings for quick access to common tasks.

Inverter technology delivers consistent power for even defrosting and reheating, reducing the risk of hot edges and cold centres. The auto sensor cooking function automatically adjusts time and power based on steam detection, helping to prevent undercooking or overcooking for foods like rice, pasta, and vegetables. Noisy but Works

Looks good, but noisy grinding sounds as the turntable turns - this was also the case with our previous microwave (same model but wrong colour for siutation - in storage). It sounds like the glass is loose on the spindle - Yes, I have checked everything - it works and does the job, but is not quiet or smooth. Would I buy again - probably - the previous Sharp Microwaves we have owned all lasted a long long time.

At a glance

This 34L Sharp inverter microwave is a strong everyday option for households that want fast, even heating with simple automatic programs. It suits busy families, shared homes and anyone who regularly reheats leftovers or cooks quick meals. Key strengths are its inverter cooking, smart sensor menus and roomy turntable. Things to consider

It offers strong microwave performance and convenience features, but premium combination models can add grill or convection cooking for greater versatility.

Family suitability

High - roomy capacity, large turntable and auto menus suit regular family meal reheating and quick cooking

Student suitability

High - easy presets, quick snack functions and simple controls make it well suited to everyday student use

Ease of cleaning score

8/10 - straightforward microwave interior and turntable design are easy to wipe down, though it does not mention a steam-clean function

Counter space suitability

6/10 - 34L capacity is practical for larger portions but needs more bench space than compact microwaves

Noise level vs category average

About average - no special low-noise mode is mentioned, but inverter operation may feel smoother during cooking

Key benefits

  • 1200W Power: Delivers strong heating performance for quicker reheating and cooking of everyday meals.
  • Inverter Technology: Helps heat, cook and defrost more evenly than basic start-stop microwave systems.
  • Smart Sensor Technology: Automatically adjusts cooking, reheating or defrosting time to help avoid undercooked or overcooked food.
  • 23 Auto Menu Options: Gives you a wide range of preset programs developed and tested for Australian cooking habits.
  • 11 Power Levels: Provides better control for everything from gentle softening to full-power heating.
  • 31.5cm Turntable: Fits larger dinner plates and makes it easier to heat full-size servings.
  • Two-Stage Sequence Cooking: Lets you program two cooking stages in one go for more convenient meal prep.
  • Favourite Key Memory: Stores up to three commonly used settings for faster repeat use.

Q: Will this microwave fit a full-size dinner plate comfortably?

A: Yes. The 31.5cm turntable is designed to take full-size dinner plates, which suits reheating plated meals rather than only bowls or smaller containers. It is still a countertop microwave, so the cavity shape matters for oversized or tall dishes.

Q: Can this Sharp microwave brown or crisp food like an oven?

A: No. Sharp R395EBS is a microwave-only model, so it reheats, cooks and defrosts but does not include grill or convection functions for browning or crisping. It suits everyday microwave tasks, not oven-style finishing.

Q: How does the auto sensor cooking work in daily use?

A: It adjusts cooking time and power by detecting steam, so foods like rice, pasta and vegetables need less guesswork than a manual timed run. It is most useful for standard microwave dishes, not every container size or recipe variation.

Q: Is an inverter microwave actually better for defrosting and reheating?

A: For these jobs, yes. Sharp R395EBS uses inverter power delivery for more even heating and defrosting, which helps reduce hot edges and cold centres. It improves microwave performance, but it does not add grilling, baking or air frying.

Q: Can I save my most-used settings on this microwave?

A: Yes. The Favourite key stores 3 regular settings, which is handy if the same person reheats coffee, leftovers or a common snack each day. It speeds up repeat tasks, but it is not the same as a fully custom cooking program library.

Q: Is this microwave quiet, or does the turntable make noise?

A: Noise is about what most countertop microwaves make during normal use, and inverter operation can feel smoother while cooking. The turntable still rotates mechanically, so some operating noise is normal and it is not designed as a low-noise model.
