Best Vacuum Ever
This is my second one in 6 years they get such a work out with 5 living in the house and the boys do not wipe their feet coming in, but the vacuum pucks it all up.

Absolutely amazing
My Mrs loves this vaccum so much, she loves the power this vacuum holds and the weight of the unit is light and yet feels sturdy. This could possibly be my vacuum of the year!

Still waiting on my item to arrive!
Purchased this product 07.10.2025. Have contacted The Good Guys numerous times. No doubt by the time I do receive my product there will be no warranty. Almost contemplating getting them to refund my money. Very disappointed :(

Decent Vac, small head
Title sums it up. The vac is good, sucks stuff up, but the head is smaller than i expected, but it's not the end of the world. Occasionally the brushroll doesn't start spinning, but a quick knock, or switch off and on sorts it out.

Awesome suction vacuum
Our existing vacuum has starting giving up and we were looking for a powerful corded vacuum only and that's when we switched to shark. It's very effective and powerful. Comes with couple of attachments. Would highly recommend!

At a glance
This upright corded vacuum is a strong fit for homes with pets, mixed flooring and frequent whole-home cleaning. Its standout strengths are the DuoClean floorhead, self-cleaning brushroll, Lift-Away portability and HEPA sealed filtration. It is best suited to buyers who want continuous mains power rather than battery charging. The main limitation is that the cord and upright format are less convenient than lighter cordless or compact models.

Things to consider
It offers strong all-round cleaning and filtration, but the corded upright design is less nimble and less compact to store than premium cordless stick vacuums or specialist ultra-light models.
Pet hair performance score
9/10 - self-cleaning brushroll and strong mixed-surface cleaning make it well suited to homes with shedding pets.
Allergy suitability
High - HEPA filtration with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal helps trap 99.9 percent of dust and allergens.
Multi-surface versatility
9/10 - designed for hard floors, tiles and carpets, with Lift-Away mode for stairs and above-floor cleaning.
Ease of storage
6/10 - practical for a full-size upright, but the corded upright format is bulkier than compact cordless models.
Key benefits
- DuoClean Floorhead: Two rollers help lift dust and debris from both carpets and hard floors without needing a separate main floorhead.
- Self-Cleaning Brushroll: Separates and removes hair while you vacuum to reduce brushroll tangles from pet fur and long hair.
- Powered Lift-Away: The detachable pod makes it easier to clean stairs, upholstery and above-floor areas with more portability.
- HEPA Filtration with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal: Traps 99.9 percent of dust and allergens for cleaner air handling during vacuuming.
- 750W Motor: Provides continuous corded suction for longer cleaning sessions without battery run-time limits.
- 0.83 L Bagless Bin: Offers practical capacity for regular household vacuuming before emptying.
- 8 m Power Cord: Gives extended reach between power points for fewer interruptions across larger rooms.
- 2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty: Adds reassurance for buyers wanting support beyond initial purchase.
Q: Is this Shark upright better for big cleans than a cordless?
A: Yes. Shark NZ801 uses a 750W corded motor, so it delivers continuous power without stopping for battery charging. The trade-off is managing an 8 metre cord, which is less convenient than a cordless vacuum in tight spaces.
Q: How practical is the 0.83L bin for pet hair?
A: The 0.83L bagless bin suits regular household vacuuming, including pet hair pickup, but it is not a high-capacity upright. In larger homes or heavy-shedding households, expect to empty it more often during a full clean.
Q: Can it clean stairs and sofas without carrying the whole vacuum?
A: Yes. Shark NZ801 has Powered Lift-Away mode, so the main pod detaches for more portable cleaning on stairs, upholstery and above-floor areas. It is still a corded vacuum, so reach depends on the hose setup and nearby power point.
Q: Does the self-cleaning brushroll stop hair from wrapping completely?
A: No. The self-cleaning brushroll is designed to separate and remove hair as you clean, which reduces tangles from pet fur and long hair. It helps cut maintenance, but the floorhead can still need checking if hair builds up.
Q: Is the Shark NZ801 suitable for mixed hard floors and carpet?
A: Yes. Shark NZ801 uses a DuoClean floorhead with two rollers to lift dust and debris from carpets and hard floors, including tiles. It suits homes with mixed surfaces, rather than needing a separate head for routine room-to-room cleaning.
Q: Will the HEPA sealed system help keep dust inside?
A: Yes. Shark NZ801 uses a HEPA filter with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology to trap 99.9 percent of dust and allergens inside the vacuum. That makes it a stronger fit for dust containment than open, non-sealed designs.
