Loving that there’s no crackle!!
Very clear sound quality. Loving that there’s no crackle!! Such a shame that you can’t manually search for stations - you can only choose from the ones discovered by the scanning feature. I can’t find my local community radio station. I also find that sometimes a phone charger or other electrical item interferes with the signal. Usually not a big issue - you just need to move the radio slightly away. Bluetooth feature is an added bonus! Quality radio!

Key benefits
- DAB+ and FM-RDS Tuner: Lets you listen to both digital and traditional FM stations for better coverage in different areas.
- Bluetooth 5.0: Streams music, podcasts, and other audio wirelessly from compatible phones and tablets.
- 2.4 inch Colour TFT LCD Display: Makes station browsing and menu navigation easier to see in bright or dim lighting.
- 40 Station Presets: Saves up to 20 DAB+ and 20 FM stations so favourite channels are quicker to access.
- Quick Access Preset Buttons: Helps reduce menu steps when switching to frequently used stations.
- Portable Design: Easy to move between rooms or take away from home for flexible listening.
- Battery or Mains Operation: Useful in places without a nearby power point, including outdoor areas and day trips.
- Backlit Display: Improves visibility for early morning, evening, or low-light use.
Q: Can this radio play internet stations or only DAB+ and FM?
A: No. This model is built for DAB+ radio, FM-RDS radio and Bluetooth streaming from a phone or tablet. It does not have Wi-Fi, built-in streaming apps or internet radio, so online content needs to come from your paired device.
Q: Does it need mains power all the time to run?
A: No. Sangean DPR76BTMB can run from batteries for portable use, and a power adapter is included for use near a power point. It suits rooms, gardens or trips where mains power is not always available.
Q: Can I stream podcasts from my phone to this radio?
A: Yes. Bluetooth v5.0 lets this radio play audio from a compatible phone or tablet, including music and podcasts. It works as a Bluetooth speaker for your device, but direct streaming apps are not built into the radio.
Q: Is it suited to a large room or mainly personal listening?
A: It is better suited to personal listening, benchtops and smaller spaces than filling a large open area. This model focuses on straightforward portable radio use, not the bigger speaker output or extra smart features of larger designs.
Q: Will the display be easy to read in low light?
A: Yes. The 2.4 inch colour TFT LCD display has a backlight, so stations and menus are easier to see in dim rooms or at night. The compact screen suits close-range viewing rather than across-room reading.
Q: How useful is this radio during a power outage?
A: It can be useful as a backup radio because it can run on batteries instead of mains power. It is not a dedicated emergency radio, so features such as a torch, siren or hand-crank power are not part of this model.
