At a glance
The Rinnai Avenger 25MJ LPG Unflued Convector Heater is a portable gas heater for homes using bottled LPG and needing strong heat output in large, open-plan or well-ventilated rooms up to 53 m². It suits families wanting easy control with a remote, thermostat and timers. Key strengths are portability, simple scheduling and solid 5.8 star efficiency. Q: How much LPG does the Rinnai Avenger 25 use in real-world use?
A: At full output, a 25MJ LPG heater typically uses about 0.5kg of gas per hour. That means a common 9kg LPG bottle lasts roughly 18 hours on maximum heat, or longer if the heater is run on a lower setting.
Q: What does the running cost look like for the Rinnai Avenger 25 LPG heater?
A: Running cost depends on local LPG refill pricing, but a 25MJ heater using about 0.5kg per hour is roughly $1.40 to $1.90 per hour if a 9kg refill costs $25 to $35. Actual cost is lower when the heater is not used on maximum output.
Q: Is the Rinnai Avenger 25 better suited to large rooms or smaller spaces?
A: It is generally better suited to larger living areas, because 25MJ/h is a high heat output for a portable indoor gas heater. As a rough guide, that can suit about 55 to 85 square metres, depending on insulation, ceiling height and climate.
Q: Can the Rinnai Avenger 25 LPG heater be used in a bedroom or tightly sealed room?
A: No. As an unflued gas heater, it needs fresh-air ventilation during use and is better suited to ventilated living areas. It is not the right choice for small sealed spaces, because unflued heaters release combustion products into the room.
Q: What should buyers know about choosing the LPG version of the Rinnai Avenger 25?
A: This model is the LPG version, so it is designed to run from bottled gas rather than a natural gas bayonet connection. That makes it suitable where bottled LPG is already used, but it is not the right match for homes set up only for natural gas.
